my 8 day journey to becoming abuse free - Part 1

By Tauisyourking · Nov 23, 2014 · ·
  1. I'm going to spend 8 days without taking my dexmethylphenidate, and than have a fresh new start, abuse free. I'm a bit dependent to my focalin. My goal is to refresh, get rid of any tolerance I built, and to stop taking it recreationally. (Maby occasional every other month hits.)

Tomorrow will be when I stop taking it.

Well i hope not getting a reply made you stop with your plan? I seen your post lasy night but i was in no condition to respond. So i looked today. :)

Youve realized you were forming a habit. And decided to take a break. I commend you for that. I hope you've. Kept going with the plan? Most of us here wish we couldve.followed.that thought process. And dont think anyone doesnt.notice.your.effort to slow.down or quit. Its not easy to realize when addiction is setting in.

I'm not sure if this is prescribed or not? Or what your plans really are? For most its really hard to abuse a medication. And then go back to using it as directed I'd think even harder then actually stopping. If that's a problem give them to someone you can trust. Have them give you only your daily amount.

Keep busy. Idle hands are the devils playground. Keep your mind on anything but your doc. Make sure you eat and stay hydrated. You probably won't feel like it. But you'll feel like shit if you don't. Although I've heard people say they get an increase in appetite when kicking stimulants. So you'll see.

I hope your sticking with the plan. Keep me posted. I'm sure more qualified people will chime in as you report your progress.

Good luck. Its a good sign you notice addiction kicking in. Peace

    Day eight, 7:25
Doing fine. It's only been a day, and despite there being a pill bottle full of dexmethylphenidate, and 4 over filled pill capsules with crushed dex in it, I'm fine. A bit cravey(or whatever) though.

Hey buddy, no need to start a new thread. If your having problems with cravings. Get rid of that problem. Don't sit there staring at a bottle of something you want. Yet want have. I don't see that being to successful. That's just asking for failure. Maybe express to your family you've been abusing it? Or just tell them you want to try and live without them for a week.

Really its gonna be really hard to quit looking at em. Don't let pride get in your way. Addiction only gets worse. If you think these cravings are bad. Abuse it for years and compare. Like i said your getting out while your ahead. This is the easiest time to do it. Remember that.

Try and Do something else when you crave. A walk, or a video game, anything to take your mind off of it. But its gonna be hard if when you get back from your walk all clear headed. And first thing you see is a bottle of pills.

Btw i think you fit in here just fine. Were like a huge dysfunctional family of users and abusers of all walks of life. And what your experiencing most of use have too. So don't feel like the odd man out.

Thanks, good point. I have been walking all day to tell.the truth. I will get them out.of my sight and play some sudoku, or watch videos or something. Thanks.

Hey, you feeling any better today? I hope so. Kicking shit can suck. But it's much better in the end. Hows your appetite and sleep? I'm guessing pretty shitty. Working out will help alot. It works on the brain alot like drugs. In that it makes you feel good. Meditation can help alot to. At least to get your mind off things.

    Well keep me posted man.

Well, I just took a walk, to get my mind off it, besides sudden cravings that subside, and tired, I'm doing pretty well.
