Over 20 years of weed - up in smoke - Part 8

  1. Thanks Ian and John.

I've been running/interval type of training since the beginning of February and mixing that with boxing/boot camp style exercise classes. My wife got me onto them.

I will say that my coping mechanisms are still re-wiring and stressful situations aren't easy to deal with on occasion. Not all of them but some. I find that my sleeping patterns are the first thing affected which just makes everything that much more difficult.... I really do need to look into some proper meditation techniques.

As part of this I have also quit caffeine and cut down my sugar intake considerably (processed sugar entirely). Has also made a huge difference!!

It hasn't been easy though and I have thought about returning many times. Each day as it comes but my resolve is strong - I just feel so much better physically - it's great not coughing all the time :)

    Congratulations Matt! You're a champ.

    Thanks Rio.

I by no means want to gige the impression it's been easy. It hasn't been and still isn't. Every day has its own challenges and every hiccup in life leads to thoughts of getting high. But hey I'm doing good at the moment.

Cheers again for the kind words.

    Mate, that's great news.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, it's an inspiration to those of us who are trying to scale the lofty heights of sobriety. I know the view is worth it.

Best wishes to you and the family.

Cheers there Hando! Diggin' the Romper Stomper reference :)

It's a tough road...but worth it. Still having good and bad days but the good certainly ooutweigh the bad.

If one's primary concern is lung health, as a medical marijuana patient I use a Pax vaporizer. Buy it directly from Ploom, as rip offs exist. My lungs and throat feel better on vaped weed.

Of course, kicking is great. Ride out the cravings, they pass. I never had physical withdrawal from weed, but recall cravings.

Good Luck, on your continued sobriety.
