quitting opiates cold turkey- on day 3 - Part 5

  1. Hey there,

Doing okay. The xanax is helping a lot with sleep. I am only using it for 2 weeks so I'm not too worried about having an issue with stopping. At least I hope it won't cause wd's from that. My doctor gave me a schedule of 3 a day for 6 days then 2 for 5 days and then it tapers pretty fast from there. He said it shouldn't cause any issues with that short term use. I don't really see any chances of me "wanting" to keep taking them because I really don't feel "high" off of them or anything. They just help me sleep which is good.

Thanks. How are you doing? I read from everyone that day 3 is the worst but for me it has been day 5 and 6. Hopefully it gets better soon.

Generally advice to just ride it out. Everyone goes through it differently and we all need support differently. I decided to come here for anonymity. It sucks that healthcare prividers are held to a different standard. For yoi, just keep pushing throolugh the pain and discomfort. You are on the path, follow to the end. :)

Day 5 & 6 have proven to be the worst for me so far as well. I am hoping to get a bit of a break today but can already feel that electric shock feeling of withdrawals starting up. Ugh.

Try and stay busy even if you don't feel like it. It makes the time to faster and you feel good about yourself because stuff it's getting done. I made the mistake of lounging around the last two days and I think it made it worse, if that's even possible.

Unfortunately there is no way around withdrawals, only through. I think you should be ok with xanex as long as you take it exactly as prescribed. If you find you are tempted throw it out or give it to someone to help monitor you. You probably don't have enough to get addicted to, but you don't want to set yourself back either.

Hang in there and congratulations on making it yet another day!! Woop!! We can do this :)
