I was swallowing when I read your response and just aspirated on it!!! Omg! It actually is perfect here. High was 72. Tonight will be in 50s I think. The pool is heated. So see you do not have to scream!!
Mom was fine. I am learning to just let it all go. Not worth making me sick over. I am making progress. Just hope I can keep moving down with this kratom crap. Read too many threads that even with taper I will go through hell. Hoping that not true.

Day 36 End of Day
I was thinking on what would be a good nutrition topic and as I was sitting here sipping on tea, I had sudden inspiration. I have been trying to focus on foods that heal and in particular foods that help people getting off drugs or alcohol heal their bodies and brains. So tonight I will share the benefits of green tea.
I could right a dissertation on green tea. I consider it one of the healthiest beverages on the Earth. It is loaded with nutrients. The most important part of the tea is it contains A LOT of antioxidants. Antioxidants kill off those free radicals that cause damage to your cells. The antioxidant levels are so strong in green tea that many research studies have shown that drinking this tea daily reduces your risk of cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's (dementia), and Parkinson's disease. The tea also has antiviral and antibacterial properties which will reduce your incidence of infection. Impressed yet? There is more!
Green tea contains the amino acid L-theanine which increases the activities of neurotransmitters called GABA and dopamine (which many addicts are low in) which can have a potent anti-anxiety affect. It also may raise the metabolism of the body which helps you lose or maintain weight. In particular, it reduces abdominal fat. It also reduces insulin resistance so it can reverse this pre-diabetic state. Green tea also improves cholesterol and triglyceride levels. One study showed that women drinking approximately 5 cups of green tea daily over a decade had 23% lower death rate from all causes compared to women who were non-tea drinkers.
Are there negatives? Well, it does contain some caffeine but the dose is much lower than coffee. Caffeine is a stimulant that stays in the body for 24 hours after ingestion. It is not harmless. Many of my patients who present with the complaint of palpitations are VERY surprised to find that once they eliminate this stimulant their palpitations either resolve or are at least greatly reduced. The United States is made up of a nation of sugar and caffeine addicts...and the combo is wreaking havoc on cardiovascular and mental health. If you suffer from even mild anxiety, get OFF caffeine and sugar. Trust me on this. The average cup of green tea contains only 35mg of caffeine, coffee contains 100-200mg per cup.
I allow myself one or two cups of caffeinated green tea in the morning. Because of my AI, I don't drink more. I would think a normal person who has no anxiety could easily drink 3-4 cups and still take in way less caffeine than your average coffee drinker. DO NOT DRINK DECAFFEINATED tea or coffee. They use strong solvents to remove the caffeine such as benzene or chloroform. Yes, these asshole companies do NOT care if they kill you...they just seek to make money. On that note too, please purchase organic green tea. It really is not expensive. Non-organic tea can contain high levels of fluoride which is toxic to the body when ingested...despite what your local water management people tell you. (That is a whole other topic).
So brew yourself up some green tea and drink up the benefits. Your opiate torn brain will thank you. And do not add milk as this reduces the antioxidant concentration. I add raw honey to mine.
So my day went great. I relaxed and spent time with my family. A strange thing happened today. It seems like suddenly my body was able to go longer stretches without kratom. Today I only took 2 doses. I will take a third at bedtime. That means my total dose just dropped to 5.25 tsps.! I did not intend to drop but I was so busy just having a good day, I didn't clock watch and I just let my body guide me. When I was starting to feel uncomfortable which happened at the 8 hour mark, I took a dose. I also got out and walked about 2 miles but kept the pace slow. I am still taking my gabapentin and my pain was low today as well.
Well, I hope you all had a great day! For you Americans, Happy Thanksgiving!
