Vomiting occurs as the body tries to purge the bacteria or virus so although it sucks it serves a purpose. To reduce the vomiting you can try either benadryl 50 mg or dramamine 25-50 mg. These old school antihistamines are decent antiemetics in a pinch.
Food wise you can try ginger tea. Cut and peel 1 inch of ginger root. Boil in a few cups of water. Add a lot of honey as it has a strong taste but it really helps. Rest from all food until the vomiting stops. Stick to just fluids. People try to keep putting food in but the body kinda shuts off digestion when sick. This makes you more likely to just vomit again.
