Quitting Oxycodone with Loperamide- My story begins... - Part 136

  1. LG,

I took the full 1800mg of Gralise and it seems to be completely covering all detox symptoms. I have had no kratom!! 28 hours. I am dizzy as fuck on this stuff so I am not sure if I just need to get used to it or reduce the dose. It is really helping my pain too. But seriously I got so dizzy I almost fell down the stairs. Not good.

I am going to be so damn excited if I am done with kratom!!! :) Roses!!!

    End of Day 46

Well, folks...I accidently missed that dose of kratom and it is looking like that was just an awesome thing. I ended up taking that Gralise stuff and it knocked me out for 10 hours straight (which never happens...you guys know I am always up at the ass crack of dawn. Hell my husband left early to take my kid to his final tournament game and he called my daughter to check on me and she came rushing into my bedroom to make sure I was alive at 11 am because I NEVER sleep that long! LOL) I have had no kratom since about 1pm yesterday. I feel fine. Tired, sleepy (like I keep nodding off) and dizzy if I change position too fast but other than that I am fine. NO detox symptoms. So for those of you detoxing...see if you can get this Gralise stuff. Wonder drug! AND my pain is soooo much better. It's weird because I mean it is just gabapentin in a sustained release version but they had to have done something to it. Gabapentin has always helped me but not this well.

I took a break today. Needed to rest my brain. We decorated our home for the holidays and just spent a nice quiet day listening to Christmas music while decorating. Was really, really nice.

OK. Since I feel well I figured I'd get back to some nutrition teaching. I mentioned the other night that I wanted to teach you a bit about the benefits of nuts. In particular I would like to tell you about almonds.

Almonds are rich in protein, good for you unsaturated fat, Vitamin E (which is a powerful antioxidant), calcium, phosphorus, and fiber. Research shows that eating almonds a few times per week reduces your incidence of colon cancer, reduces the incidence of heart attacks, and improves cholesterol panels. I am one of those crazy people who actually makes her own fresh almond milk but you can also buy almond milk at your local grocery store. Almond milk also contains lots of calcium (more than dairy actually and in a much more absorbable form which is important for us addicts) and Vitamin E. Buy the unsweetened stuff; you don't need the added sugar. I also love to buy freshly ground almond butter for toast and sandwiches.

All raw nuts have similar nutritional support. Buy them and eat them daily! You only need a handful. The only "nut" I don't recommend is the peanut.

First, it isn't a nut but a legume that grows in the ground instead of on a tree. The problem with peanuts in the United States is that they are VERY highly sprayed with pesticides. They are also harvested from the dirt and then stored in silos before they are processed. What is the problem with this? Well, there is a very toxic fungus called aflatoxin that grows on the peanuts. This fungus is known to cause cancer. It is also strongly suspected to be the actual cause of all the peanut "allergies" we see in kids. The children are not actually allergic to the peanuts but to the mold that grows on them.

So if you want to eat peanuts and peanut butter or plan to give them to your kids I would strongly encourage you to ONLY buy organic peanuts and peanut butter. This will at least reduce the pesticide exposure. You can also look to buy peanuts only grown in New Mexico. The drier climate leads to less mold. There is a particular brand that is sourced there but DF doesn't allow sourcing...so just read and check things out for yourself. I don't buy peanut butter anymore. My family has switched to almond and cashew butter instead.

Well, getting tired and probably heading off to bed. I will keep you all updated. We will see if tomorrow the detox kicks in or if I just finally got far enough away from all the opiates, kratom, and loperamide and made it out to the other side. I sure hope so.

    Night all! Love to you.

    JD,

I am so happy for you. It sounds like you had a nice weekend with some well earned time off. I'm so happy to hear you are not suffering any withdrawals. I really think you will be fine. I think you'll have some residual effects but they will be manageable. It sounds like your new medication is really helping you and I'm glad to hear that. I've never heard of it but I'm researching it online. I'm hoping I can get my doctor to prescribe it for me. Who knows, maybe that's the answer to all our problems ;)

Thanks for the information on the nuts. I actually learned about these concepts recently and I do not eat peanuts for the very reasons you've mentioned. I prefer almonds to any other nut. Almond butter is so yummy too.

Well, I hope you feel good tomorrow. Continue to post so we can support you. Have a good night!
