Quitting Oxycodone with Loperamide- My story begins... - Part 181

  1. Well this is what I did to manage the pain today. First, I took 3 tsps. of kratom (1.5 of bali and 1.5 of maeng da) plus 50 mg Benadryl and some Toradol. I also took an extra 1200mg of Gralise. I soaked in a VERY hot bath for 20 minutes then applied a TENS unit and shocked the shit out of my shoulder. This was followed by capsaicin cream and ice. I also comforted myself with Dove chocolate. :)

It worked. I have no skin left on my body from the third degree burns but my shoulder/neck/arm feels much better! LOL Fuck. Anyhow, I got through another day and honestly I just need to get through this week. Have an ugly amount of shit on my plate and am just done.

There will be no more food/health posts until Saturday. Have to get through the interview first. Love to you all.

Way to go JD. You pulled out all the stops to deal with your pain today. So proud of you. And chocolate too. Yahoo! Good luck with your interview. You'll do great. They're lucky to have you.

    Update: Thursday, Jan. 8, 2014

I don't know how to have my posts show the amount of minutes since my last post (within a post). Anyway, I'm on Day 5 of tapering oxycodone. So far reduced from 45mg - 30mg - 25mg and holding at 25mg for the next few days. This morning was the first time I have felt *really* uncomfortable. Woke up drenched with sweat, anxious, jumping out of skin feeling, cold, etc. Amazing how that happens. I know I'm tapering kind of quickly but I also know I'm going to feel bad eventually so I might as well get it over with sooner rather than later. I almost don't trust myself to drag the tapering out too long for fear of picking up the oxy. The temptation is too great. I've been this route before but cold turkey. The good news is that I've also been going for walks every day.

I took my oxycodone, 1 gabapentin (100mg) and 1/2 of clonodine. I feel better but exhausted. Only got 3 hours of sleep last night. This is so much fun I can barely stand it.

I hope you are not in pain today JD. I wish someone would make me one of your smoothies - I may have to bite the bullet - (no pun intended) and drag out my NutriBullet and whip something up.

    Have a good day.
