Quitting Oxycodone with Loperamide- My story begins... - Part 192

  1. Hey everyone! I have been crazy busy the past few days and tonight I finally had time to post. The course I am teaching this semester is very heavy and I just have an intense amount of shit on my plate. I also am finally starting to really sleep again so I have been catching up on my zzzz's! It feels so damn good.

    GDW, I know exactly what you mean. The reason I am still going to pain management and still filling my prescriptions for oxycodone and stashing them is because I KNOW I need something for pain and I am not sure how long kratom will remain an option. That stated I find it fairly easy to taper and I buy it in decent amounts so even if they cut me off suddenly tomorrow I would have plenty to do a slow taper. I am working at keeping doses low and hope that with the Cymbalta and the Gralise, I will be able to manage my pain fairly well without opiates.

    Kitts, hope you are doing well too. I have been REALLY bad about my diet this week.

    To answer your question, the taper is done! In 30 minutes I will be oxycodone free for 24 hours -- the first time in 4 years. Let's party. [​IMG]

    Seriously I'm a little shaky -- but good. Been doing the Kratom Shakes, Gabapentin, Advil and Clonidine.

    Glad you caught up on sleep. Sounds like you're doing great. More later....

    I am so proud of you!!!! Kratom really does provide the way out. Now you just slowly taper it and walk away. It's awesome. Keep kicking ass my friend.

    Another few OTC w/d helpers that are usually available as extracts at most Organic grocery stores/supplement shops:

    -Chaste Berry (I think its also called Monk's Berry)
    -Black Cohosh
    -African Mango
    -Red Clover
    -California Poppy
    -Myrrh (Terpene isolate fraction works best)
    -Frankincense (Commonly called "Boswallia" or something on bottles)
    -Kava Kava
    -Valerian Root
    -Nicotinoyl-GABA (Picamilon; OTC supplement in USA)

    Wow babe, that is kick as awesome, truly.You must feel so proud of yourself, I know I'm incredibly proud of you and your wonderful achievement. Yeah of course you're gonna feel a little shaky to begin with, after all it has been 4 years since your body has been opiate free...right? So it will take a little time for your body and mind to become accustomed to the change. Again very well done.

    JD - I really appreciated you letting me post on your thread during my taper. I felt like I had a security blanket. Kitts (and you) will be happy to know that I'm going to start my own thread now. Although I am still on the edge withdrawal-wise, I think it's probably the best time to document my feelings so that perhaps I can help others. If I help even one person out there to get off opiates it will be well worth it.

    I'm drinking a kratom smoothie (speaking of opiates). I just keep adding things to it until it's not disgusting. Cheers to that. I'll think about tapering the kratom, but since this is only day 2 of oxycodone withdrawal I can't do it just yet. If the fools in Washington, DC make kratom illegal they are doing a HUGE disservice to many out there who can use this as a means of getting off much more serious drugs. (Okay getting off my soapbox now.)
