Quitting Oxycodone with Loperamide- My story begins... - Part 208

  1. Agreed. I think used at lower doses and for a very short time, loperamide can be a useful detox tool. The real problem is most people try to avoid withdraw all together. They make the mistake of taking high doses and fail to taper and hold at a high dose. Then they get caught. Face that you will have to bare some discomfort and push through it. I still hold that much of this crap is mental. Get your head straight and just do it.

Kratom did not hold me very well coming off high dose oxycodone but as my tolerance dropped it did no problem. I trust plants any day over stuff made in a lab. I think here in US loperamide will start being sold in much smaller containers. Cardiac risk with this shit is too great.

In spite of the fact that I bought a ton of loperamide for my oxycodone withdrawal, thanks to kratom I did not use one pill. It was interesting to say the least, however, I did need to arm myself with gabapentin, aka the wonder drug, clonidine and hydroxyzine. But no loperamide.

Maybe it's also because I didn't come down from a high oxy level - was doing 40mg a day, but seriously folks I had been doing it for 4 long years. Kratom + gabapentin = a smoother withdrawal transition.
