Quitting Oxycodone with Loperamide- My story begins... - Part 27

By Jungledog · Nov 1, 2014 · ·
  1. Thanks Hydroxyout & GDW. I needed the mind words. This morning was a little rough mentally. My doctor visit left me confused and doubting myself. I know where he is coming from and respect his opinion but I need to do this my way. I have decided to just keep to my loperamide taper. In another week or so I can then taper kratom. I will use the temazepam as needed to help my sleep but not every night. Would rather save for when I am off completely. I filled the hydrocodone and I will keep it for when I truly can't tolerate the pain.

I forced down my green smoothie and then my husband and I got to take a beautiful 4 mile walk on the beach. The sun, wind, and the sound of the waves were like balm for my soul. Nature really helps me tolerate the cuts. Hope you are both holding strong. You are always in my thoughts.

    Love,
    JD

Hi JD, I am glad you decided to stick to the loperamide. I fear that using the Hydrocodone might trigger opiate cravings. The loperamide is not likely to be getting past the blood brain barrier at the dose you are taking. I'm just thinking out loud...I'm pretty shocked that your Dr doesn't give you more encouragement! Its well known that long term narcotic use actually increases pain levels, not only that but they suck the life out of you, zapping energy and make you feel like crap if you aren't consistently increasing the dose. I'm sure you are aware of all this; I have my fingers crossed that you somehow find the pain manageable without narcs.
