Toss the cashews in a little honey, salt them, place in a dehydrator for one day. They taste pretty damn good and the enzymes are still intact. Or buy raw and really lightly roast for only a minute or two. As for a high power blender the best two are Blendtec and Vitamix. Next time I will buy the blendtec because it is a smaller appliance that takes up less room than the Vitamix. I make everything in my blender, including soup. It's really cool. Freaking thing could grind up steel. One day my son was helping me make a smoothie and I asked him to put in half an avacado which he did pit and all! It ground it up!
Last night I cut up potatoes and sweet potatoes and kale. Tossed it in a baking dish with coconut oil (this is the ONLY oil you should cook at high temperatures well that or organic butter. All other oils including olive oil mutates into a trans fat like compound. Always buy cold pressed oils because heat turns them deadly. I buy a big container of extra virgin cold pressed organic coconut oil on internet. It is like 10 pounds and lasts me 6 months. It is a strong antiviral and antifungal and antibacterial. You can put it on your kid's boo boos and use as a non-toxic body lotion. It will NOT make your food taste like coconut!Forget any brain washed shit that this is a bad oil. It is saturated yes but it contains something called medium chained fatty acids that the body uses immediately for fuel instead of putting it on your hips. Professional athletes use it.). Sprinkled it with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Anyhow then I steamed broccoli to top the potatoe mixture and topped with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Yum! Whole family, including the 9 year old, scoffed it down.
It is funny. I am a nutrition nut and have raised my kids to understand food is medicine. Are they perfect? Hell no! They like a candy bar like everyone else but what I notice is they just don't eat a lot of it. Today I have to make chocolate beet cake for my son. Yes, red beets in chocolate cake. I make it with whole wheat white flour and stevia. I have brought it to parties and people rave about it. Yesterday I heard my 23 year old tell her friend who has a 3 year old and was giving the child soda "Do you know that just 1 tsp of sugar suppresses the immune system for 8 hours?" The mother took the soda from the child who apparently is frequebtly sick with colds and stuff. My daughter asked me how she could teach her friend without offending her. I told her to lead by example. My daughter is healthy and fit with beautiful skin. I told her people will begin to ask you what you are doing. I look 10 years younger than my given age and I think it is because of my diet.
Day 19, 6 weeks off oxy, a few days off loperamide, Day 6 kratom taper
Woke up at 5:30 with the achy leg syndrome. Got to bed about 11 after watching the Walking Dead ...my oldest daughter and I are totally hooked! Anyhow, I took valerian, Vit c, motrin, and restoril washed down with chamomile tea. Got 6.5 hours sleep. That is pretty good. Learning to be accepting. I can't change it and it will take months to return to my usual 8-9 hour pattern. In some weird way, I like being up before my family. Gives me time to just relax and sip my coffee.
Ok so off to the kratom discussion. Noticed my legs hurt less and it had been 7 hours since last dose. I only have a single 1 tsp measuring spoon in the master bath so I only took one tsp. If in a hour I still hurt, I will take another half tsp but I figure let's see what happens. I have an event this weekend but the following weekend I am free and could sneak a 4 day weekend. Could be the perfect jump off time. Anybody know how long kratom withdrawals last? Or would this just be delayed oxy withdrawals and I am looking at 2 weeks? If that is the case, I need to wait until Christmas so I have a little more recovery time.
Well off to get my little one ready for school and then my walk and then work! Love you guys and think of you often!
