Re: Quitting oxycodone with methadone and loperamide
thanks for the replies Cmenot and Jungledog. my friends been using the clonidine as u guys mentioned but he seems especially sensitive to it. Although he doesnt have low blood pressure normally even a small dose (like half of a 0.1mg pill knocks him on his ass). He will probably take a full 0.1mg today since tommorow he can afford to simply lay in bed.
Anyways, today has been pretty good, little to no withdrawals per se except for those invented by his mind. Bowels seem to be re-awekening after two weeks of methadone and loperamide but so far no definite action. Right now its 8:30pm and my friend is in a more positive headspace than he was yesterday, a bit more positive outlook on things, but i guess this night will be the actual test of things as it will mark the first full 24 hours with no opiates of any kind (since he will try to avoid redosing with loperamide tonight if at all possible). He is pretty much in a waiting pattern waiting for something to happen withdrawals wise. He is going for a drive right now to clear his head before trying to get some sleep.
Will check in later on if possible and post an update if things get worse or not. If not it will prob be midnight, if yes, well then, as they say, the night is young!
