    In the September 1993 issue of Annals. an article entitled “Positron Emission Tomographic Imaging of the Dopamine Transporter with ”C-WIN 35,428 Reveals Marked Decline in Mild Parkinson’s Disease” (Frost et al, Ann Neurol 1993; 14:423) was printed as an expedited publication. The article reports the use of [“C}WIN 35,428 for detecting large depletion of the dopamine transporter in mild forms of human Parkinson’s diseased brains and fortifies the findings of other groups that proposed using the dopamine transporter as a marker for Parkinson’s disease.
