1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

Medication Management for Adults with AD/HD

Medication Management for Adults with AD/HD

  1. testodan
AD/HD is recognised as a neurobiological disorder that often persists from childhood into adulthood, resulting in about 4-5% of adults having AD/HD. Medication which is an integral part of the multimodal treatment of AD/HD in children, is the cornerstone of treatment foe adults. Although there is a significant amount of research in children, there is much less controlled research data on medication therapy in adults. Regarding the use of medication in the treatment of AD/HD, it has been said that "pills do not substitute for skills".This means that medication alone is not sufficient to help a person improve his or her problems in areas such as organization, time management, prioritizing, and using cognitive ids. However, medication levels the neurobiologic playing field, and allows adults with AD/HD to learn and develop the skills they need to succeed.
