    An article by Mia Touw (of Harvard University) on the ethnobotany of cannabis. If nothing else, it shows that cannabis has been used for centuries as a medicine for a wide variety of ailments ranging form its use as an analgesic to a cure for diarrhea, as treatment for swollen testicles or skin ailments.
