Swim's psychiatrist is basically her Suboxone doctor...
He just recently presribed her Ritalin. At every visit Swim tinkles in a cup (to show that she is taking her sub and isn't using).

Her issue is that she is out of her Ritalin and is worried about it not being seen in her urine and wonders if she uses some Adderall if that would suffice??

Swim has heard/read Ritalin can show up as amphetamines. Is that true?

    Please advise! Thanks! :)

Adderall is Amphetamine. Ritalin is methylphenidate. They both have similar effects, but are different substances. Swim cant say for sure, but most likely adderall wont show up as ritalin and vice versa.

Thank you for swiyour reply... Swim has read on Erowids that Ritlain causes a "false positive"... Now Swim wondered if they mean false as in it may come up once in a while, or if thats how ritalin read on a drug test...

Could anyone clarify that confusion? Or give a similar experience? Thanks!!:)

Ritalin can cause a false positive for amphetamine. It wont always do it. If the sample is sent to a lab, they should be able to determine that it is ritalin and not amphetamine.

So since Ritalin "can" cause a false positive, it won't look odd if nothing comes up at up for amps?

    Anyone know for sure?

If it comes up positive for either its not good. They are as you know schedule ll drugs. A positive for another drug can be disputed. If "they" are wrong they pay the test. If you are wrong you pay the test, usually. Because the second confirmation test is about $100. Drink lots of cranberry juice.

Thanks for the advice. Swim was asking because she is on a Suboxone (Buprenorphine HCl and naloxone HCl) program and is prescribed Ritalin (methylphenidate) but used Adderall after her Ritalin disappeared sooner than expected somehow :-

Swim was worried about failing but her doc just bitched about the benzos and weed lol! :p

ADDERAL will show up as a false positive. Ritalin if don't by a FDA approved lab will not show up as a false positive . Ritalin is not a amphetamine, it's a methylphenidate. Ritalin can show false positive in urine however more time than not ritalin will not show plus gcms basically hair testing will prove your innocence .
