My friend is on probation for DUI and has to take random UA's that consist of a 5 panel plus alcohol test. He had ONE beer on friday night, and now he has to go take a UA test tomorrow...monday. He has read that alcohol can be detected in urine for up to 80 hours after consumption so he is a bit freaked out.

Is there any chance that the test will come back positive? At the moment he is drinking one dandelion tea after another hoping to flush out anything that remains. Anybody know the answer to this?

For general drug tests, alcohol shouldn't be detectable for more than 36 hours. On etg tests, however, alcohol is detectable for as much as 3-4 days, but those tests are basically testing for alcohol specifically. For the most part, probation UA's won't go as far as using etg tests because of their cost.

in ny etg test while on probation are common,my friend was subjected to one of these on nov 2 2011 after a night of drinking ..19 hrs later to be exact,he used xxtra clean toxin cleaner green apple flavor to attempt to clean out the matoblites that they check for with the test..that being said the probation dept hasent said anything to him as of 14 days later at his appt but this may be do to the result not being back in time since only 14 days had passed(he dosent know how long it takes to get the results back)anyhow he has his second appt since the test on wed the 7 of dec and should find out if he failed..this being said he has noticed that the frequency of home visits and the general attitude of the officers towards him seem a little cold...they have seemed to tighten there surveillance of him so if this any indication of the results..it may have came back diluted will post more on this tomorrow after he is done with appt.

well my friend went to probation today and was told that his ua was tipped and spilled in transit so no results...dont know if they were being honest or not..so either he is the luckiest probationer on earth or for some reason they dont want him to know the results so they lied...witch means his strategy might have worked because with the amount of etg that should have been in that sample it would definitely been more than incidental exposure and ground for violation.
