I went to a doc the other day and described some chronic back pain
in order to get some 10/325's. He actually only got 5/500's to
    start. He got prescribed a 10 day supply (40 @ 5/500) w/ one
refill. He took about 10-15/day (next time he'll get 10/325's or
do an extraction) and actually started having back pains around day 3
    of this little bender.

The back pains are worse when he doesn't have any more pills, tho the
pain was present from about 2/3 of the way thru the first 40 pills
until the end of the second 40 pills and even now, 3 days later.
Now he actually feels he needs the pills, and can obviously get more,
but is wondering if that's the best thing since it's possible this high
    is actually causing back pains.

It's very possible SWIM's back pains are a result of spending a few
months in a tent on an air mattress, working w/ heavy lifting, etc.,
tho I have rarely had back pains before and is in excellent health
and doesn't remember doing any one thing that caused back pains.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks-

it is possible that swym actually injured him\her self BECAUSE of the
pain meds. they can cause people to not realize when an injury is
happening due to decreased pain sensations, thus causing the injury to
be more severe. on the other hand, maybe swym's kidneys are
aching from the extremely high doses of acetaminophen they've been
injesting. CWE is our organs' friend. swym's liver will thank swym

sometimes when i run out of oxycodone, my back will hurt, its from the withdraws. your brain makes your back seem to hurt so you'll get more drugs. and when my back hurts i take more oc and immedaitely my back feels better, and i KNOW it doesnt kick in that fast, its the psychological addiction

    What is CWE?

Someone showed SWIM some stretches. We'll see if that
helps. He has noticed that the pain goes away far too quickly
when he takes more pain killers. We'll see.

What type of back pains is it? Where are they? Are they sharp or dull? There is a big difference between a back pain that is transient and back pain which is persistent and permanent. I hurt my back kneeboarding ten years ago and I still have pain sometimes. I actually absorbed a landing right in my spine and popped a vertebrae out of alignment. Anyways if it is a transient pain it could be from WD. But there are still alot of other options. Sleeping in a tent long term can be murder on a back as well as long term physical work.

From what I hear you just keep telling your doc it's not working and
that you're in a lot of pain and need something stronger. If he
    doesn't care, find another doc.

I've heard good things about docs that specialize in pain management,
as they're used to giving out stronger meds for longer periods of time
    to manage serious pain.

There's also online pharmacies that you ship them something from your
doc that says you complained of back pain and they "consult" with you
on what you need. Not sure how good of stuff you can get, but I
know you can at least get Norco.

I just told my doc that I had days w/ "breakout pain" (that's a
buzzword they like) and that on those days I took enough of the Vikes
he prescribed that I was concerned about the amount of tylenol in
them. So he gives me more hydrocodone, less tylenol, ala Norco
    10/325's.
