Well I am gonna crash for the night so hell leave with this thought. Ive seen plenty of threads about whats the best music to listen to while stoned but no threads on books. I entered books in the search engine and just can up with stuff about growing, chemistry etc.

While I dont toke as much as i used to and find it is sometimes difficult to read while stoned, sometimes nothing cracks me up better than a really weird or trippy read while im high.

My favorite book to date that ive read while high, and i would purposely get high just to read this, is Kurt Vonnegets 'Breakfast of Champions' Its really weird and has a fooked up plot, but the almost kindergarden like prose and hilarious illistrations throughout make it a must read while u r high.

Another fav is George Carlins 'Brain Droppings' . This book is freakin hilarious, stoned or not. Ill also say 'Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas' of course, and check out Aliester Crowleys 'Dairy of a Drug Fiend' if u can find it.

Any one else got any trippy page turners?

I agree that "Brain Dropping" was a good book. I don't really read while high, but MAD magazine is good if your stoned. I just finnished "The Killer Angels" by Michael Shaara. It was the best civil war book I have ever read. I read "2001, a Space Odyssey" by Arthur Clark awhile back, so now I'm reading "2010: Odyssey Two".

The first time I ever got stoned, I picked up some random book and started reading it. It was Oedipus Rex by Sophocles. Blew my mind.

Howard Marks autobiography 'Mr Nice' is a good book to read while stoned but it'll make you want to become a smuggler!!

'1984' by George Orwell is another good one, it was written way back in 1949 but so much has come true....

I can concentrate and figure out things better while high, I am high right now, i like readin mystery book's and figuring out the ending before i get there. I also like reading this big pill book ive got, just incase i run across something i don't know. But RL stines goosebumps used to be fun to read, but i like that book how to kill a mocking bird, and some other's ill list later when i remember the name's. Don't forget about the song gangsta's paradice as far as music goes. It's old but i like it.

Im reading political and social critical non fiction at the moment. Im working on Al Frankens book "lies and the lying liers that tell them," Its really really good but difficult at some times to concentrate on especially the economical fact. Ive no interest in economics so while stoned my thoughts drift off. Its a good book. Every American should read it!

Duuuuuuude.... No one has posted the single best book to read, high or sober.... "Rule of the Bone" by Russell Banks. It's about a punk pothead kid struggling for self-discovery while being pretty much homeless. He meets an old Rasta who teaches him. They goto Jamaica. I am trying not to give up too much because this is a terrific read, especially if surprised.
