I was just curious if anyone knew of any weird side effects of binge coke use. I only do coke once in a blue moon, but when I do, it's usually for 5-6 days in a row. Well, last time I did it, I found afterwards that I get out of breath a lot easier. A lot more tired.

Is this some sort of withdrawal or something?

Cola is physically tiring, especially on the heart & circulatory system... what you got is pretty normal, particularly after 5-6 days of rolling. It also taxes the lungs somewhat, as you inhale some when snorting it. Very important to rest after a long roll.

Other weird side effects? Depends how long the binge use, but there can be plenty. 5-6 days sleep deprivation is enough to cause hallucinations & somewhat disordered thinking, but probably not long enough for clinical paranoia. Not eating right 5-6 days = weight loss, muscle spasms/cramps, who knows what else. Headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, increased thirst, agitation, aching muscles, bloody noses are some other possibilities when rolling that long.

As you probably suspect, it's really not a good idea to roll that long. Particularly if you aren't heavy into harm reduction and not going out of your way to minimize the damage.Edited by: Nicaine

i get many side effects from not eating correctly and also sleep deprivation. i'll be in a different mind states sometimes for days after, like in psychois. the morning after, i know im depleted of energy and food still, but somehow just jump out of bed wide awake like it's nothing. not eating correctly causes my back to be fucked up because im so skinny i have to slouch and curl up all wierd positions when sleeping.

Awesome. Good to know I'm not dying. Also good to know I never developed an allergy or something ridiculous like that.

I only go at it once ever 4-6 weeks or so. I am normally very active.. this
time I noticed that today instead of running my normal 3 miles I had to walk
a little around 1.2.. That's after a week drinking (10+ drinks every night, up
at 9 the next morning.. it was a sales conference) followed3 days in vegas
doing it up w the white stuff.

But that three days was just a shade more than a ball (3 grams). So if you
don't do it often it hits you hard.

But yeah, the physical effects pretty much crushed me this time.

Putting it directly, the stuff is bad for your heart. Heart disease from crack use is very common. There's no reason binge use of the powder form couldn't do the same thing eventually. It's really a good idea for binge users to have periodic EKG's taken, and to avoid strenuous exercise after using heavily for any length of time. I mean, watch your ass if you want to keep it above ground... cola is not child's play by any means.Edited by: Nicaine

Just wanted to share some tips for the muscles that helped SWIM.
Mostly the symptoms just make you overthink it and you end up more
anxious and it just makes it worse.. I'm not suggesting you ignore your
body, but just try to relax and see how you feel after a few minutes.

This is for people quitting smoking tobacco, but it's useful:

Progressive Muscle Relaxation</span>

<ul>
[*]Begin by closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths and letting all the air
out[*]Then focus on your feet[*]Tense your feet muscles so your muscles tighten and your toes curl[*]Notice how your feet feel when they are tense[*]Hold the tension for a few seconds then relax[*]Notice how your feet feel when they are relaxed [*]You can do this one foot at a time, or both feet together[*]Now move up your body, tightening and loosening in sequence the muscles of your
calves, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, and torso[*]Tighten your hand muscles and work your way up your arms, shoulders and neck[*]Tighten and relax your jaw muscles. Press your tongue against the roof of your
mouth and relax.[*]Tense and relax the muscles of your face by making a grimace and the muscles of
your scalp. You may be amazed at how much tension there can be in the facial muscles.[*]When you have finished this exercise, lie still for five minutes and notice the
sensation of your completely relaxed body. If it is bedtime allow yourself to go to
sleep. If not, slowly get up and continue with what you were previously doing
Relaxing Specific Areas</span>

<ul>
[*]Tighten and relax specific areas that feel tense. Usually this is the neck,
shoulders, lower back and scalp. Feel the tension flowing out as you relax
Visualization</span>

<ul>
[*]Sit in a comfortable chair[*]Close your eyes[*]Visualize yourself in a peaceful setting. [*]This could be a meadow, childhood home or the seashore.[*]Feel the peace descending and enfolding you as you notice the sights, sounds,
smells of this peaceful place. [*]Take 5-15 minutes for this exercise
That could help me too. It's been almost a week later, and I'm finally beginning to feel better. I only do coke about once every 2 months, and this is the first time I've ever felt physically exhausted afterwards. A couple days ago I tried to run too. I only got about a block and a half before I had to stop.

And yeah, I totally overthought it. The more I thought about how tired I was, the more paranoid I got.

Do you ever crash during the 4-6 days? Or start to crash?

Or would you starting to crash end the binge?

What happens if you take more while crashing? Does it postpone the crash?

Lucky you... I am coming off an approx. 1 1/2 month cola binge using about every couple days, and he says there's a constant nasty, insecure feeling like something important is missing (altho he doesn't report any overt cravings). Good idea to stick to once every 2 months.Edited by: Nicaine

Does he crash at all during that time? The gap between the usage
is long enough for the crash to come, no? Or is that when usage
restarts.

What do you suppose the total usage is during that 6 week period?

You ask too many questions, without giving reasons why you're asking. Why don't you just converse normally.

How does dosage during a binge work?

Like, over the course of the binge, one would use more one day than the previous, and maybe less the next day, and so on..

Crashing happens when you stop right?

Let's say someone on a weekend bender and sunday evening you run out
and start crashing not quite ready for sleep yet when a buddy shows up
with more yey.

Adding more once you're already crashing is only going to prolong the
inevitible I assume.. but beyond that how dangerous is it, etc?
No one really knows what amount triggers an overdose, especially since
everybody is different.. but with what's already in one's system during
the binge, how does one dose taking more? If one takes just a
small bump, it won't really do much of anything because of the
tolerance at the end of the binge, right?

Sorry, I have nothing but questions.. SWIM just finished a 4 day binge
and his first binge and dosed more than twice what he might consume
during light daily usage during a week.. stopped around 24 hours ago,
slept for 12 hours, felt like shit, and did a little bit more, and is
feeling a strong crash like yesterday.

There's nothing more to
the story, just and anxious person crashing.

Just drink a beer & go to sleep. [IMG] Hard to believe you feel like posting on a message board during a crash...

If it helps, keep a phone by your hand so you can dial "911" if you're worried about your heart, etc. SWIK has done this before, made him feel better. Edited by: Nicaine

I may have found some sort of answer to my question regarding using while crashing (though:

"Acute withdrawal is another very real problem for Cocaine users. When a
coke user crashes, he/she often becomes demanding or confrontational;
often, he/she remedies this situation by using more Cocaine, which is
exactly the wrong thing to do, as it makes the next crash an hour later
even worse."

From here: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~healthed/groups/dapa/otherdrugs/co ke.html

The other thing is, anxiety/panic attacks can cause
twitching/trembling, chills, and a bunch of other physical symptoms..
and now that I search more, coke doesn't actually cause many physical
symptoms during crashing/withdrawal.. which is part of the reason why
they thought it was safe back in the day.

I guess I didn't know what crashing really was. The page I read
originally (http://www.toad.net/~arcturus/dd/cocaine.htm) does list a
bunch of physical symptoms, but I can't find much else out there that
agrees.
