I am tired of hearing all her friends blast people who do coke at home by themselves. In you's opinion, is it really a waste?

I would love to be doing lines with friends, but her old coke buddy has taken a hiatus (likely permanent) from it, and I don't know of anyone else that she could party with that wouldn't be judgmental.

I think that being coked up while surfing the Net, reading, listening to music, Instant Messaging, etc, is quite enjoyable. Sometimes too enjoyable, causing SWIM to keep on snorting far longer than she intended to.

    Any thoughts?

Its not a waste if You has a good time. Think thats the answer I am likely to get from most members of the forum. Since drug use is a subjective experience, the only opinion that really matters is that of the user in the use situation. So, if You enjoys cocaine alone, then its not a waste!

I found reading, IMing, playing guitar, and writing to be quite fun while home alone on coke! In particular, writing was great, since his thought processes could come out clearly, and he would meticulously edit each sentence until they were of very high quality. He'd read things he wrote again when he was sober, and still thought well of them! Sometimes I would even enjoy going for a walk, looking at the local flora and fauna would be very pleasing. I havent tried this but he imagines that gardening could be great fun while on coke, or perhaps cooking (although he probably wouldnt be compelled to eat afterwards!)...but the very act of cooking would be fun.

Personally I like to be out and about with friends or doing something with friends whilst taking any substance, it's more of a social thing than anything else for him.

I have tried Piperazines, Cocaine, MDMA, LSA and Amphetamines whilst alone at home and whilst it was fun in some ways, it was 2000% better with friends. I have no intention of taking the above substances or any other substances whilst home alone again. It was more of an experiment, but now I have realised he is unlikely to enjoy without friends.

Note: I do not mean I tried them all at the same time at home. :p

Swim understand you, he hasn't got many drug-lovers friends, and his best friends are sport guys very healthy and many of them haven't tried any drug except for alcohol. That is good I think cause he doesn't want to end up like the friends that introduced drugs to swim.

Anyway, I like to do drugs on his own, but be carefull my friend, cause it is a big step to addiction, especially if you spend a lot of time at home, alone. In swim's opinion it's better to use drugs when doing things that you don't do very often, like partying or camping in the woods.

In total agreement with Forthesevenlakes on this one; I feel that if it's used for recreation, then doing whatever makes one happy while on it is wonderful. That's the point - whatever allows You to get the most enjoyment out of it.

For SWIM, doing the home alone, IM'ing, net surfing, online gaming thing is great - but SWIM most enjoys the other social aspect of cocaine. Being out talking with friends, meeting new people, making new connections. Whatever floats yous boat though. The point it to have fun with it.

SWIM seconds the comment on the 'doing it home along is a big step towards addiction.' Be careful. Moderation. ;)

I read a thread the other day about drug association, but I can not remember which forum it was in. But generally it is a good idea to associate drugs with something You doesnt do very often to lower that addiction potential. I guess it all depends on how much self control you have and what your personality is like at the end of the day.

Define "waste of time". Home alone can often be more pleasurable as the surrounding is familiar, comfortable, and safe (not medically safe, but safe in the sense of privacy). The drug misinformation age and negative social stigma often leads to a drug user having two disparate groups of friends: those that are "cool" and those that can/would/do disapprove. I find comfort in being alone -- not just with cocaine, but many things can be pleasurable at home and alone...

I'm not sure it is what you are referring to, but I posted a message that echoes a very similar sentiment (https://drugs-forum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=192794&postcount=24). It still seems possible to be home and alone and associate with something else like a special night. Although, everyday or all the time home seems like a slipperly slope.

    For SWIM the answer is:

NO, if access to large quantities of smut and porn.

Otherwise, YES most definitely. I get really frustrated unless out with friends where he can chat shit and socialise.

Using cocaine on one's lonesome is considered one of the tell-tale signs of the beginning of a problem. That should be kept in mind. I wouldn't be a fan of the idea but as Forthesevenlakes suggested correctly, drug use is a subjective experience therefore it isn't a waste as such. I would advise not to make it a habit however.

Yes, this was the post I was referring too. I find that advice to be the best way to keep control of your use. If you associated your use when bored or home alone I think it could inevitably lead to a habit. SWIM tends to keep his use, the majority of the time, for social and recreational uses, never when his alone, bored, sad or angry.

That said, I feel a slight social addiction to the use of substances now, drinking just alcohol doesn't give the same experience.

From what I gather it seems to be the 'in' party drug at the moment so it seems that most users are doing coke either in a group or with friends. I think it's a bit sad if a social drug (if there is such a thing) is taken on your own...

I find that doing it alone, while at home, makes her clean the hell out of the house...that could be a benifit...

swit rarely uses in grops of 2 or more. swit enjoys sitting at home alone watching funny videos, comical vids, politiacaly charged stuff(pro-bush), lots of milf porn and a clean wash-rag for the night. for swim cocaine isnt just a socail drug but more on the lines of a personal drug, this stuff can really get yoiu thinking about You life and the choices at hand. swit finds that when yoiu do this same thing with another person all your oppinions get splurged togeather and yoiu forget your vp. I am not a hermit though I go out and actually has a very beutiful girlfirend. swim just makes sure to set out some time for himself and a sack.

No hiatus from coke is permanent unless a person's dying, so I am very sorry to hear about you's friend's illness :p.

Anyway... naah, nothing wrong with doing it at home by oneself. Unless that's all a person ends up doing most of the time.

Just a quick thought. I think doing it at home alone does indeed lead to doing more that one intended to. For SWIM, it became truer each time until I had aproblem habit. Best to do it with friend who will keep You in check if You gets out of her head too much. Easier to realize that with people observing.

I agree. If coke wasnt so damn expensive, one would see a lot more use of it other than "socializing". and Freud most likely got it dirt cheap if not for free. I say it is a very nice tonic for the mind and soul, and that his most, if not the only, rewarding experiences with coke have been in a calm setting just thinking and enjoying himself or having good conversations with someone you care, I guess it all boils down to your personality.

I think this post should be renamed to "Cocaine, a waste of money..." as the problem is, as I see it, that cocaine's stimulant properties can be more xploited in a pary scenario and since the shit is so expensive you wouldnt want to blow your money and end up alone at home all anxious and with scarce alternatives of puting that extra energy onto use, unless you like to clean your house and dishes.
One mroe thing I'd like to add, this money issue can be put unto other expensive substances, where you almost set up your experience beforehand in order to get the juices out, depending on how you're "supposed" to feel and enjoy the substance (like MDMA and raves and the hugging and loving and glowsticks shit). I hope I made some sense.

I like to do substances at home alone these days... there's nothing wrong with solitary activities, substance-related or otherwise.

People read, listen to music, watch TV, go to the bathroom and numerous other things alone, what's so bad about using a substance like cocaine alone? Granted, some aspects of it are more fun in social situations. But some aspects aren't, as well (in particular, down & dirty rolling, i.e. using heavily until it runs out is much better by oneself... coming down is also better accomplished alone, ISE).

I have always preferred either small groups of good friends swim can be comfortable around or being alone. As far as coke goes I have been very honest in that swim's ravorite activity on coke is anything having to do w/sex and smut. Swim also agrees that the lines tend to go up a little quicker though when alone and more is done, but as long as it's fun, all is good.
