Any good experiences or recipes for cooking with weed?
I've made very simplistic tea before with weed. It's pretty good and starts working a lot faster than most marijuana recipes. All you have to do is grab about 5g of fresh, ground up weed and strain it with boiling water into a mug. Add a lot of milk so it can gather up all the THC and knock it down.
Uh, I thought water doesn't absorb THC, so if you strain it in water
and then add milk, you should just be getting watery milk that tastes a
little bit like weed.
I have other people say they can get high off of weed tea, but I never tried it with any of my good stash.
I did try it with sticks and shake, nothing much happened.
Here's a basic crash course in Cooking With Weed 101:
It's oil or alcohol soluble. Mostly for cooking you'll be using
either oil or butter. For beverages, you'll be using alcohol.
It usually takes at least twice the dry weight of weed as you would
smoke, to get high from with cooking. So if the weed you have is
of medium strength, to where you would smoke a whole joint alone to get
off, and assuming you roll joints with about 1 gram of dry material in
there, then you'd need 2 grams of weed for each serving of food you
will be cooking. Now before you go thinking this is a waste of
weed, consider that on average you'll be high an hour or two from your
joint (if that). You'll be high for 5-8 hours from eating the two
joints's worth. Also, smoking hits you more or less right away,
whereas eating it takes 30-90 minutes to feel it. Also eating
produces a much deeper, heavier stoning than smoking ever could.
Basic recipe is to grind your weed into a powder in a coffee mill or
something like that. Then stir-fry it over a low heat in butter
or olive oil. After that, you can strain out the plant material,
or just leave it in there, as you wish. Now you have cannabutter or
canna oil. It can be stored just like that in the fridge, and
used on bread or muffins, just spread it on a slice and eat. Or
you can use the oil in a recipe for any baked good like cookies or
You can also make spaghetti sauce with the weed, just fry up the
hamburger, then fry up the weed in the grease from that, then finish up
your spaghetti sauce however you like. The recipies are actually
endless, use your immagination, just make sure you stir-fry the weed in
some kind of oil for 1-3 minutes at some point in the recipe.
You can take any kind of high-proof spirit you like, figure out how
many normal drink's worth are in the bottle of vodka or tequila or what
ever, then add two joint's worth of weed to the bottle for each drink
the bottle contains. In this case you don't need to grind to
powder, just cut up somewhat fine with scissors (it will make filtering
out the expended weed later easier). Soak the week in the spirits
for 30 days, shaking the bottle vigorously once a day. Have a
drink and get stoned.
Home made beer can have cannabis in it too. Make the wort in the
normal manner except bump up the sugar content of the wort to produce
higher alcohol content beer (7-9% is good), place in fermenter and
allow to ferment to almost finished (about 10-14 days). Now place
the weed into the fermenter and re-close it. Allow to finish
fermenting and let the weed soak in there another 7-14 days. Then
bottle your beer. If you do the recipe right, so that there's 2
joint's worth of weed for every 12-ounce bottle of beer, then one beer
will get you stoned.
Keep in mind the long come-on time for cannabis when consumed
orally. Do wait at least an hour before eating that second
cookie, or drinking that second shot or beer. No, you won't OD,
but you will get waay high, and for some people it's disconcerting to
be that high for that long.
If you have any friends that are dead set against smoking anything, yet
would like to try weed, and they have never been stoned before, please
use caution. Give those people only 1/4 to 1/2 the oral dose you
would take. Otherwise they can get waay too high and maybe get
freaked out or paranoid, then if that happens you'll be trip sitting
your poor friend for the whole day until he comes down.
Cooking or alcoholic beverages are a good way to use up normal "waste"
cannabis. Sure you can use bud for the purpose, but it isn't
necessary. That nice plant you have there, that you've been
clipping off the shade leaves from when you harvest your buds: Save all
that normally harsh to smoke shit, and use that for your cooking. It
will still get you plenty stoned.

That's what I'm saying though, "weed tea" is bullshit because thc is
only soluable in alcohol or fats or oils. The only tea I've heard
of working is rez tea, made from resin, and that's just because it
wasn't strained, so you're actually drinking resin granuales and hot
A really good quick recipe I use sometimes is to take your weed, grind
it up, mix it in a mug of milk, microwave it until it gets pretty hot,
and then add chocolate. Then I let it sit for like 10 min, until
it gets cool. Easy, and it doesn't smell like the ganj (except
for the mug, just wash it).
I grindand soak my weed in macadamia oil for a week first, shake it up everyday.Cook it real slow on low heatuntill the oil turns black or dark brown. strain the plant material and discard. Im pretty slack when it comes to making cake, i just mixthe oilinto one of those two step cake mixes (has to be chocolate) and add heaps of white chocolate bits. Because of the excessive amount of oil you need to bake the cake really slow. The macadamia really masks the taste of weed so you can make it pretty strong and it will still taste brilliant.
I like my brownies soft and chewy anyways, so all the extra oil works
out well towards that end. I hate macadamia nuts though, so I
usually use pecans.
There's a coffeeshop in Amsterdam (called Abraxas) that will make you a
cappuccino with hash in the steamed milk part. It is soooo good! They
do hot chocolate too, and killer chocolate milkshakes. Those things get
you SO HIGH, though...it is really best to share one among two or three
Although I haven't done it for a while, when I was into baking things
with weed I would make these delicious cinnamon spice cookies, although
I don't have the recipe at hand. The flavor of the weed really
complimented the spicy taste of the cookies.
I find that flavor-wise, hash goes well with chocolate, I don't really
like weed and chocolate together--weed goes better with something spicy
or just plain sweet, like a blondie instead of a brownie.
But there are those of us out here in TV land that like the taste of weed!
If your going to make the tea you have to use MILK like Nature boy said, whole milk or cream would work the best they have the highest FAT content so the THC is absorbed
Agreed, milk is needed. Basic concept behind Bhang.
He says boil it and strain it, and THEN add milk. By then all the
thc is gone, because it was strained out before hand. You would
need to boil the weed in the milk, strain it, and THEN add water.
In that order. That's what I was saying before.
Pecan oil or nuts? im not the biggest fan of macadamia but the oil works quite well with weed and chocolate.
Olive oil to fry the weed, cause it's healthy. Pecan nut pieces 'cause they are tasty.
The extra oil in the recipe adds moisture to the mix that is not easily
evaporated, making them soft and chewy. And also helps to
keep them from burning/sticking to the baking pan if you are drifty and
forget to take them out on time.
On the bhang thing, I have a good recipe.
Grind up the weed to powder. On low heat, fry in a small amount of
butter (like 1 teaspoon per serving, with maybe 2 grams of weed powder
in it per serving). Simmer slowly so as not to burn the butter, the
butter should be just barely bubbling. Cook weed and butter at
this temp, stirring constantly for 2 minutes, no more. Set this aside,
it warm enough that the butter does not congeal.
Now you need some Yogi Tea. Yogi Tea is a mixture of the
following: cinnamon, black pepper, cardamom, ginger, cloves, fennel,
and licorice root. Use about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of yogi tea per
serving, and put it in 1 cup water per serving. Bring water to slow
boil, and cook the yogi tea in the water for 15 minutes. We use
water for this, because boiling milk for so long doesn't work out so
well. The yogi tea, being mostly bark and roots, needs to cook that
long to release it's flavors into the water. Cook the yogi tea 20 or even 25 minutes if you want a spicier flavor.
Now run the prepared yogi tea through a strainer to get rid of all the
floating stuff in there, and place it back in the pot on the stove,
bring to slow boil/simmer again. Add 1 cup milk or cream to the
water (cream is best taste) and heat to almost boiling again. Now put
the butter you made, complete with all the cannabis particles into the
pot, continue to heat and stir 2-3 more minutes. Turn off heat,
serve and enjoy.
Very tasty, and more importantly, very effective and efficient transfer of cannibinoids to your tummy.

Sounds really good dude...inspired me to either try this, or create a
good recipe to make chai latte with weed. Methinks the cannabis
flavor and the chai flavor will work really well together.
i like to take bout 1/8 of weed and sprinkle it all over pizza as i
make it i put it under the sasuce under the cheeese ontop of the
cheese, everywhere i you eat one of those you'll be bfairly dflkucked
up and 8th is a decent abount if your going to eat i. s
sry if my typing is messed up at all i too 35 mg of ambien recentllyi
So does the leaves really contains TCH or that .. even though it´s just plain leaves with no coating ? thought they were worthless ....
Leaves contain THC in lower concentration than the buds. But it
is there for those creative enough to find a way to get it out.
Leaves definitely need not be wasted, especially if supplies are short.
agreed, ive smoked some good ass hash made from leaves before
