Hey just sharing some personal experience.

I have been a IV opiod user and other downers for 7 years, Im 26 years old and have a year clean. Ive had random clean time throughout the years and would only make it 90 days or so I would relapse seasonally and end up in rehab many summers.

I am a spiritual person and believe that is a answer to many problems with addiction but I would always feel a dissonance within and would end up loaded.

This last time I did all I could so desperately and sought some medication. I hate suboxone and did research on pregablin and suggested it to the doctor. He did it and it was amazing.

With in a few hours of a dose of about 300 mgs I was somehow aligned inside. I felt all the opiate Withdrawals fade. I was still getting night sweat, armpit drips and terrible sleep.

That night I sleep 9 hours and was dreaming. I was in the restorative healing state. It seemed to actually revert my thinking back to a earlier age. It has been amazing I have no consistent PAWS and also have been able to fix a ton of issues. I actually on a couple brain scans showed a total energy change.

So tested for me LYRICA is a real opiate Withdrawals aid and blows benzos out of the water. Really I dont think I could articulate the benefit. If you have the option use it. Its so different then youd think.

CONS- I think the long term aid is bad I have stopped it suddenly and began a Withdrawals unlike anything before. Hot Flashes, visual issues, insomnia, body aches, TINGLE PIN PRICKS and other thinking issues. Ive titrated lower and lower and will probably just stay on a small dose wit a supplemented gabapentin. Its scary I do believe Lyrica will be moved up in the Controlled Substance law. I have a ghost that gets calls to buy some more then he used to get opioid calls.

Has Anyone go through lyrica and it is great but the Withdrawals is worse then Heroin or Benzo withdrawl combined in bizarre ways. I dont know if there is any medication to aid the detoc but anyone with adbice or experience please share on it. Any personal experiences?

Hey there MD, welcome to the DF, i believe you'll find this place of great help! :)

As for your questions, i'll try to answer bit more extensively later when i find enough time, but i just wanted to reply so that you know you're not alone here (you never are). :)

I have quite a lot of experience with pregabalin, and same as you, i found it to be of really great help with some of the issues.

It has it's cons off course, there were times when i wished i never discovered it, times when i thought how much better it would be if i was just able to let things go their own way.

Still, i think it's pros outweigh the cons, and i'm not talking about the most obvious aspects, such as relief from some of the acute opiate wd symptoms or help during paws. Insights i've had while on hefty doses of pregabalin are something i would never come up to without it, at least not without months, if not years of some professional help. You can read more about all that on my journal, if you're interested. Pregabalin is introduced somewhere round page three if i remember correctly. Most important parts on that subject are closer to the end of the journal.

Pregabalin is a very strange substance, unlike any other i ever tried and i really tried many. I remember how disappointed i was when i first tried it, it took me some time to notice all of it's positive effects, but once i came there i realized how awesome it really is.

I agree that withdrawals are very irritating, to put it mildly, so caution is advised. Still, keep in mind that this will pass too!

If there's anything concerning all that you'd like me to answer in more detail, please just ask.

    Stay well =)

I was using it five times a week, monday to friday, for a few months, with doses ranging from 275mg to 450mg, all in one day.
I started noticing strange symptoms a few weeks ago, getting really hot and waking up sweating, even though it was not hot outside. Really bad anxiety and depression. Diarrhoea every morning.
I looked online and found that the symptoms I was getting was like other people's pregabalin withdrawal symptoms so I decided to try and stabilise by averaging out my dose and taking 300mg a day, but in 6hrly doses of 75mg.
I have got stable now, the symptoms have gone (unless I miss a dose) so I plan to do a taper. Pregabalin is water soluble so I will put my dose in water and take out my cut with a syringe.
The important thing is that I started to take it a couple of times a week, but it increased, because I would have appointments or social events, etc on the days I wasn't supposed to take pregabablin so it crept up.
The half life of pregabalin is only 6.5 hours or thereabouts so I thought that leaving 48hour gaps between doses would be ok but it was not enough.
