My imaginary friend recently got given some imaginary pills from one of his imaginary friends. They were prescribed to him by his imaginary therapist as an antidepressant but before my imaginary friend took them he looked up the drug name (diclofenac potassium) and brand name (voltarol) on wikipedia and found nothing about use as an antidepressant.

"Diclofenac (marketed as Voltaren, Voltarol, Diclon, Dicloflex Difen, Difene, Cataflam, Pennsaid, Rhumalgan, Modifenac, Abitren, Arthrotec and Zolterol, with various drug dose combinations) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) taken to reduce inflammation and an analgesic reducing pain in conditions such as in arthritis or acute injury It can also be used to reduce menstrual pain, dysmenorrhea."

My imaginary friend could use the pills as a painkiller but he's intrigued as to why it was prescribed to his friend as an antidepressant. Assumedly for a placebo effect.

Does anyone have any information for my imaginary friend regarding this? I'd be happy to pass it on to him.

Basically he wants to get fucked and is wondering if this'll do it. Especially since it is an anti-inflammatory and non-narcotic.

I think next time he's going to try to get some imaginary valium or imaginary ritalin.

    Re: Diclefenac as an antidepressant?

Alright, my imaginary friend just spoke to his friend and found out that they weren't prescribed to him as an antidepressant, he was just worried about my imaginary friend's well being and thought there was a possibility of him ODing on antidepressants.

He would still be interested in information concerning the use of diclofenac as a recreational painkiller though.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'll advise my imaginary friend to leave them until he's actually in pain.
