    Swim has a couple questions

Swim has onced smoked a blunt dipped partially as well as lightly in hydrocodone syrup a while back, and today swim has gotten some cheratussin AC from the doctor today as per a Mild cough swim made sound a tad worse then said cough actually was.

now, Swim would like to know if lightly dipping the blunt in this liquid would be "safe" enough to do, Swim knows that guafenesin, A ingredient in this mix is used for getting the mucus off the lounges in your body, this is the basis of why swim would like to know before swim attempts this lovely combination codeine and marijuana.

Also if the little bird deems important, swim has ingested about 20C and is feeling slight side affects of feeling nausiated.
therefore swim just wants to smoke some pot to feel better either way. :vibes:

if not then swim goes on swimming.

dude, just do the cough syrup and smoke the blunt after. I dont see the point of ruining a nice fat blunt. Besides you shold think twice about drinking syrup that has guafenesin (or any other active ingredients apart from coedine) in it as a high doses it can cause respraritory failure and is probably ass-raping your liver at the same time.

Yes swims friend would agree with the last poster that dipping the blunt into opiate cough syrups is a bad idea. Although some of the codeine will likely be inhaled, alot will be burnt up. And the blunt will probably taste like shit. Also who knows what guafenesin does when burnt, could be toxic for all ya know.

First thing to do is find out all the ingredients in the mix if there is any others besides guafenesin. Then after that find the "safe zone" for guafenesin (and any others) dosing. If the dangerous dose of guafenesin is alot less than a recreational dose of codeine then dont fuck with it except for medicinally or just take small doses.

What about the fact that codeine is a prodrug and needs to be converted into morphine to exert it's action. Granted a lot of it will be converted in the brain (after it has passed through the blood brain barrier (BBB)), but some will also be converted by first pass metabolism, which is primarily done when the substance is taken orally.

I would never recommend smoking something dipped in syrup. There are going to be a lot of nasty combustion products. Now if we are talking about a purified compound (like pure powdered codeine) it's a different discussion (though one would likely want to vaporize, not burn a powder), but don't burn syrup. Unhealthy and likely just wasteful of the drug.

Swim has done this with codeine/promethazine syrup, and suggests if you absolutely must smoke it then don't dip the blunt in the syrup and suggests painting it onto the inside or outside of the blut and allowing it to dry out. You would most likely be better off just drinking the syrup, at least in swims opinion.
