swim doesn't drink milk himself but one of the biggest stoners he's friends with regularly goes to the corner store and gets a litre of chocolate milk after smoking a joint-- I guess it satisfies his munchies or something to that respect... no buzz killing tho!

chocolate milk is *the* best munchie..my cat never found that it killed her buzz too much. eating actual food does, though.

Sounds like an unsubstantiated myth... probably started when a pothead with tolerance issues drank a glass of milk just as his high was diminishing. Sadly in some circles "oh my god dude the milk killed my buzz" may be considered scientific wisdom...

There's milk in a pretty common preparation of bhang, which would seem to say that milk does not kill the buzz.

p.s. swim has tried this bhang preparation and it worked quite well.

Swim even makes an drink with milk, which actually gives him a buzz. It is cannabis (in reasonable amounts ) and milk cooked together with some sugar and spices -like anise- or chocolat and cannabis and milk. Swim can assure swiy it will give swiy a hell of buzz. It last long and is really smooth.

SWIm drinks oftenly chocolate milk while high and can assure SWIY that it does not kill the buzz.

But like augentier's cat said, eating actual food (mostly fat/heavy food) does tends to do so.

smoking weed lowers your blood sugar.

raising your blood sugar increases the metabolites so your system works out the over saturation of thc molecules.

Re: Does milk kill ur buzz?

We were having a nice discussion of "how eating food after smoking marijuana kills a buzz" in the chatroom. So does anyone have any references to back up these claims? SWIMs family of smokers seem to follow this rule of not eating directly (directly being 1-30 minutes or so) after eating a meal. SWIM always noted the food took away from the effects of the marijuana. I will search around on the internet for this, though I doubt there has been any studies or research done on this... :)

Re: Does milk kill ur buzz?

Yes, please provide a source for both of these claims.

Raising your blood sugar increases the metabolites of what? are you trying to say that it increases digestive enzymes? Also, what does "over-saturation" mean? Are you trying to say that all CB receptors are occupied (saturated) and that there is excess THC in the blood? or are you referring to depot-binding (i.e. albumin...etc.)?

Also, as noted above, the abundance and effective qualities of the bhang preparation of cannabis would support the idea that milk does not diminish the effects of cannabis, but rather allows an increase in ease in terms of crossing membranes. This is for oral consumption though, which is a different story.

Drug inhalation is a rapid process, rivaling the speed of the fast parental routes (IV/IP). Blood from the lungs goes directly to the brain without passing through the liver, or any other sites of first-pass metabolism. By the time the user has finished smoking, the vast majority of the active ingredients have already reached their destinations (in this case, CB receptors) and unless the food they are consuming contains some competitive CB antagonists, it will have no effect on the cannabinoid activity.
