1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

If you donate now, then you have the unique opportunity to receive extremely rare books, blotter art and other collectors items in return. These items will be sent to you for no additional cost, except shipping costs.

Your donation will used by Drugs-Forum to cope with its hosting costs, server costs and software costs. Currently donations bring in almost €7.000 less than our hosting costs and that's a huge financial problem. Plus we are in dire need of a new server. We needed to temporarily close Drugs-Forum to guests, in order to save bandwidth and server resources. Help make this great resource available to the world again and support this cause.

There is only one of each collectors item.

The first: Journal of Cognitive Liberties. Volume 1 Number 1 : winter 1999

The Center for Cognitive Liberties was founded by lawyer Richard Glen Boire. The board of directors includes notables such as :
John Perry Barlow , Rick Doblin, Alex Grey, Alexander Shulgin, Jonathan Ott, Myron Stolaroff and others.

This first publication contains articles on the ideal of cognitive liberty, court cases, laws and impending laws and a fascinating section on Entheogen arrest related news stories, among other things. An important little piece of history!

I have never seen a copy of this available anywhere- this was from the personal library of the late writer Thomas Lyttle.

"Opium Den" LSD Blotter art signed by everyones favorite hash smuggler: "Mr. Nice" Howard Marks. Signed to the late author Thomas Lyttle

From a series of LSD Blotter prints commissioned by the late author Thomas Lyttle in the Early 90''s. Arguably the first blotters intended solely as art. Prints were left untrimmed and he had numerous psychedelic visionaries sign them. While most of the signed prints were numbered- few (if any) actually had the whole series signed. While Timothy Leary signed a great number, most others signed relatively few of these. Many were donated to MAPS many years ago, and these have become very hard to come by.

    Ecstasy Rising DVD Compilation

This special DVD of “Ecstasy Rising” is perhaps the best documentary ever made about MDMA. This Peter Jennings special originally aired in 2004 on a special edition of ABC’s “Primetime Thursday” in which Jennings tells the previously untold story of Ecstasy. The compilation includes special interviews with MAPS Founder and Executive Director Rick Doblin as well as with Pharmacologist and Chemist Alexander “Sasha” Shulgin -- the godfather of Ecstasy.

Ibogaine: Rite of Passage Documentary DVD

“Ibogaine: Rite of Passage” is a documentary about the use of the controversial substance ibogaine for the treatment of opiate addiction. Ibogaine is a psychoactive substance derived from the African plant iboga. It is used during ritual initiations of the Bwiti people in Gabon. In the 1960s, American researcher and heroin addict Howard Lotsof discovered the anti-addictive properties of ibogaine. Not long after his discovery, the use of ibogaine became illegal in the United States and remains illegal there today.*
“Ibogaine: Rite of Passage” follows an American heroin addict through an ibogaine session at a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico. Through a series of critical interviews with former addicts, ibogaine facilitators, and other experts, the documentary asks if the controversial status of ibogaine is due to economics or to its hallucinogenic effects? The DVD includes the official trailer, information about ibogaine treatment centers and other resources related to ibogaine and opiate addiction, and a filmography of the director. Subtitled in English, French, German, Spanish, and Dutch. You may also visit Ibogaine: Rite of Passage on the Lunart Productions website for more information about the film.
The film was completed thanks to the generosity of Custom House Publishers, For A Better World, Inc., and the Rotary of Antwerp,

Can a sacred plant from the Amazon heal our minds and spirits? For centuries, indigenous people of South America have used ayahuasca, a psychoactive plant medicine, to cure all manner of psycho-spiritual ills.
Today, thousands of Westerners, seeking healing and spiritual awakening, attend ayahuasca ceremonies around the world to drink the vision-inducing tea and experience dramatic transformations in their lives.
"Vine of the Soul” is a documentary that explores this brave new world, offering insights into the nature of faith, mystical experience and self-healing through a heightened state of consciousness.
Filmmaker Richard Meech follows key protagonists as they journey to Peru – and back home – capturing in verité style both the life-altering epiphanies and nights of terror encountered after drinking the sacred brew.
Is ayahuasca a doorway to direct knowledge of the divine or a path that leads to psychological trauma? Can it cure modern addictions to drugs and alcohol or is ayahuasca itself a possible substance of abuse? Some people call it a medicine, others a sacrament; the Amazonian shamans say it is simply a ‘plant teacher’ that tells you what you need to know.
Throughout the film, in-depth interviews with Peruvian and Canadian shamans, ethnobotanist Dennis McKenna, addiction expert Dr. Gabor Maté and scholar Kenneth Tupper speak to the increasing use of ayahuasca outside the Amazon and the potential benefits for Western medicine, personal spiritual growth and a new understanding of nature.
Featuring Guillermo Arévalo, Metsa Niwue and Ronin Niwe. Shot on location at Espíritu de Anaconda near Iquitos, Peru and at other locations in North America.

    National Geographic "Inside LSD"
LSDs inventor Albert Hofmann called it "medicine for the soul." The Beatles wrote songs about it. Secret military mind control experiments exploited its hallucinogenic powers. Outlawed in 1966, LSD became a street drug and developed a reputation as the dangerous toy of the counterculture, capable of inspiring either moments of genius, or a descent into madness. Now science is taking a fresh look at LSD, including the first human trials in over 35 years. Using enhanced brain imaging, non-hallucinogenic versions of the drug and information from an underground network of test subjects who suffer from an agonizing condition for which there is no cure, researchers are finding that this "trippy" drug could become the pharmaceutical of the future. Can it enhance our brain power, expand our creativity and cure disease? To find out, Explorer puts LSD under the microscope.
the CIA's LSD Brothel, Interview with one of the 20 Preachers involved with Leary's Miracle of Good Friday Experiment, New Interview with Ram Dass, and Yippie Paul Krassner , the godfather of LSD Blotter Mark McCloud, Nick Sands and much, much more.

    Festival Express (DVD, 2004)
In the summer of 1970, a rock festival travelled across Canada by luxury train, stopping in Toronto, Calgary, and Winnipeg. Lured by the promise of a mobile party, Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, The Band, Buddy Guy, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Ian & Sylvia signed on to the tour for a fraction of their usual fees. The performances and the stars' antics on the train were both filmed, only to be locked away for 25 years. The colorful and thrilling results, seen here for the first time, capture these artists at their loosest and most natural. Fans of Joplin and the Dead will find reason to rejoice in the playful footage of these icons enjoying each other's company on the train, as well as their blistering stage performances. The events are also put into context through new interviews with the surviving musicians, including Buddy Guy, the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, and Mickey Hart, who speak frankly and humorously about the tour. Once buried in reputation by the era's other historic concert events such as Woodstock, or the Rolling Stones at Altamont--FESTIVAL EXPRESS is proof that a monumental live event in '60s rock has been long overlooked.

Timothy Leary's Last Trip (DVD, 1998)
The long, strange trip of Dr. Timothy Leary, alternately lionized and despised as the High Priest of 1960s LSD subculture, has inspired generations in search of self-discovery and expanded consciousness. This authorized documentary of Leary's life pays homage to Leary and other '60s counterculture personalities such as Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters--who inspired Tom Wolfe's THE ELECTRIC KOOL-AID ACID TEST--and Acid Test house band The Grateful Dead. Like other films that deal with the work of iconoclastic American heroes, such as WILLIAM S. BURROUGHS: COMMISSIONER OF SEWERS and GROWING UP IN AMERICA--spotlighting '60s political radicals like Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin--this film offers testament to the power of revolutionary thought. LAST TRIP recounts Leary's early life, from his schooling at West Point and his tenure as a Harvard professor, to the university and government experiments that prompted his research into LSD and other hallucinogens. Centering on Leary's relationships with key figures in the heyday of the drug era, archival footage and interviews chronicle the famous bus trip that first brought Leary and Kesey together. Insightful interviews with Leary toward the end of his life (he died of cancer in 1996), show that he dealt with terminal illness in a manner as colorful as the era with which he will be forever linked.

The Pharmacology of LSD: A Critical Review (Paperback)*
    Annelie Hintzen, Torsten Passie
    Published by the Beckley Foundation

LSD has a controversial and extraordinary reputation, due to the special effects it can induce on human consciousness. Its experimental use lead to some groundbreaking discoveries about the brain and the deeper layers of the human psyche. After its application in neuroscience, and as a tool within psychotherapy, it was increasingly used by laymen for producing euphoria and religious experiences. Today, there is a resurgence of interest in LSD, including its possible uses in psychotherapy and for the treatment of some headache disorders. This book represents the first ever comprehensive review of the psychological and pharmacological effects of LSD. It draws on data from more than 3000 experimental and clinical studies. The Pharmacology of LSD provides a unique and valuable resource for anyone interested in better understanding this controversial hallucinogenic drug - including brain scientists, psychopharmacologists, addiction researchers, and psychiatrists.

The picture on the covers is from Albert Hofmann - LSD crystals under polarized light.

John Lilly signed Fractal Coast LSD Blotter Art
From a series of LSD Blotter prints commissioned by the late author Thomas Lyttle in the Early 90''s. Arguably the first blotters intended solely as art. Prints were left untrimmed and he had numerous psychedelic visionaries sign them. While most of the signed prints were numbered- few (if any) actually had the whole series signed. While Timothy Leary signed a great number, most others signed relatively few of these. Many were donated to MAPS many years ago, and these have become very hard to come by.

1988 Batman Issue of Detective Comics:
    - In 1988, DC Comics released a Batman issue of the Detective Comics series where the primary villain is a young man who is given ecstasy and then goes on a killing rampage. The secondary villain is the ecstasy dealer / pusher who gives the young man the drug. This comic represents some of the absurdist "Just Say No" propaganda common in the late 1980's and is an amusing piece of War on Drugs memorabilia. This comic also represents an interesting piece of history because it came somewhat after the first crest of media frenzy about MDMA. By 1988, the "designer drug" hysteria had been mostly drowned out by the "Crack Epidemic" scare. When Ecstasy fear mongering was reinvented in 1998-1999, the previous wave of anti-ecstasy media was all but forgotten.
The story in Batman 594, written by Alan Grant and John Wagner, is very thin and the artistry of the book, drawn by Norm Breyfogle and colored by Adrienne Roy, is of middle quality. Included here are several pages from the comic to give a flavor for the depth with which the issue is addressed and the standard drug-scare cliche plot. The story itself isn't specific to ecstasy and any "Evil Drug" could easily be inserted in place of the term "Ecstasy" and the story would make just as much sense (if not more). The storyline is all the more absurd since Ecstasy is known to be one of the psychedelic-class drugs least likely to precipitate severe traumatic Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or lasting psychosis.

THE SPIRIT MOLECULE weaves an account of Dr. Rick Strassman's groundbreaking DMT research through a multifaceted approach to this intriguing hallucinogen found in the human brain and hundreds of plants, including the sacred Amazonian brew, ayahuasca. Utilizing interviews with a variety of experts to explain their thoughts and experiences with DMT, and ayahuasca, within their respective fields, and discussions with Strassman’s research volunteers, brings to life the awesome effects of this compound, and introduces us to far-reaching theories regarding its role in human consciousness.

Several themes explored include possible roles for endogenous DMT, its theoretical role in near-death and birth experiences, alien-abduction experiences, and spiritual states, both within Eastern concepts of enlightenment and Western ideas regarding prophecy, and the uncanny similarities in Biblical prophetic texts describing DMT-like experiences. Our expert contributors offer a comprehensive collection of information, opinions, and speculation about indigenous use of DMT, the history and future of psychedelics within the research community, and within the larger social matrix, and current DMT research. All this, to help us understand the nature of the DMT experience, and its role in human culture and evolution.

The subtle stimulating combination of science, spirituality, anthropology, sociology, and philosophy within the film’s approach sheds light on an array of ideas that could considerably alter the way humans understand the universe and their relationship to it.

Do you have to donate the full amount in one go or can you accumulate until you've donated the amount to receive a particular item? If the former, I'd be glad to take LSD symposium DVD off your hands. If not, I'd prefer to wait until I've donated enough for the rarer gems.

It doesn't matter in how many times the amount is donated. Just mind that the start date is July 9th 2010, so only donations after that date count.

^^ In the US one can go to their bank aand exchange funds (usually takes 2-3 days), and most airports have currency exchanges. Also many large cities have businesses- look in the yellow pages under "Currency Exchange".
And of course Alertpay & paypal will ecxhange funds as part of a transaction.

I have raised a support ticked to donate 200E for Opium Den LSD Blotter signed by R.A.W.- the late author Robert Anton Wilson

Awaiting a response... response received, and donation made :) .

SWim adds, what a great collection of stuff above, choosing was hard, but budget set a limit to what I could afford, but wow, great collection, so wish I could afford more blotter art, lol.

another update, recieved me items today, chuffed to bits cheers!! :D

a big thanks for the bullet proof packaging and freebee poster!!, strait through customs, not opened, not a mark on it, perfect!!
