I have been on paxil for several months with little progress, one time after getting a terrible sore throat, he used mucinex and found the experience intoxicating! There was only maybe 60 mg of DXM between the two pills, but it was incredibly intense. Never knowing what DXM was like on it's own, swim continued taking dosages (of robo gels) ranging from 90 - 300 mg. His skin felt amazing, food tasted great (always being severely underweight, he was overjoyed that he gained 25 pounds within 2 months of usage), and music...oh wow the music. Eventually, he quit taking paxil cold turkey due to it being expensive and unhelpful...not knowing that was the key to the wonders of DXM for him. After the unbearable withdrawal, he tried DXM again...ended up only itching profusly for the entire night. He has learned that he was probably just playing with fire (and seratonin syndrome), but wants to have those experiences back again. Has he lost his ability to get high on DXM, or is there some other way to do what paxil had done to the dosage to make the experience so incredible, because there is no chance in hell he is going back on paxil....ever!

Paxil dosage: 37.5 mg/day for around 6 months

Have You tried DXM and cannibus? My toad has found that the two are madly in love one with each other and insist on giving anyone who combines them a good trip!

Toad has also found great levels of dissociation on ketamine and DXM, DXM and nitrous oxide, and even a psychedelic-dissociative experience by combining LSD and DXM!

Chances are, and rather unfortunately so, if you have taken too much DXM and now cannot achieve the same trip you have "lost the magic" and only with a long break for dextromethorphan (6months+) will it come back with any strength. Even worse, if you have mixed DXM with a MAOI or a SSRI (isn't paxil one of these?) you may have given yourself serotonin-syndrome and will have a hard time ever re-experiancing safe dextromethorphan hydrobrominide hallucinations again.

Hopefully you can find joy in DXM trips with the above chemicals mentioned, particulary cannibus if you have not yet tried it. Best of luck to you!

Yes, paxil is an SSRI, and I'm guessing that is why I had such wonderful trips at such a low dosage. I guess he'll have to try to wait it out and try again.

    Thanks for the info!

That doesn't sound like a safe combo at all; sounds more like a recipe for seratonin syndrome

Paxil and dextromethorphan both are selective serotonnin reuptake inhibitors, resulting in the euphoric synergy. Dextromethorphan and Paxil (arguably) can be safely used seperately, however there is an extreme risk of serotonnin syndrome when combined.

Yes, as I thought you have probably enjoyed rather risky and unhealthy DXM trips that were flirting with the line of serious serotonin-syndrome. A rabbit I once knew did somethign similiar mixing small amounts MDMA with DXM-containing cough syrup and found himself quite enjoying the combination until he realized his mistake. No doubt serotonin-syndrome provides a good, one-time high; but it is not safe nor will you be able to reach the same high from the same dose.

I would love to just take paxil and dxm and listen to music, skin would tingle to the beat, colors would pulse in front of eyes too...not mild colors, but the most deep and vivid purples and blues...One time I thought he had shrunken down so small and fell through the cracks in the floor, never to escape...that was bad.

One interesting thing was that I had always been nervous, somewhat shy, in social settings...I wouldn't really know what he was saying, but on DXM everyone found him absolutely charming...kids and adults alike. He misses that.

JigglyPuff can definitely relate to the whole confidence thing. Works better than those other so called anti anxiety drugs. Wonder why that is.

SWIM notices this confidence thing as well! When he worked retail, if he was fresh after a DXM trip everyone would notice how much he was smiling and was seemingly more friendly.

SWIM's theory is that DXM is an effective serotonin-based anti-depressant, with some psychedelic side effects making it ineffective for clinical use.

Tis a shame. JigglyPuff would be very interested in it if it were a prescribed drug to treat his Social Anxiety. Was the first time that JigglyPuff can remember feeling that comfortable and relaxed around people in public.
