SWIM is sorry if this has been posted already, but he searched and couldn't find more than a few scattered posts on this subject.

Does anyone have hard info on the effects of Gabapentin on the kidneys and liver?

Also, someone in the forums said it causes 'hepatic cancer'. Is there any truth to that?

What is your guys max dosage? He finds that 2400 is quite good. But then there's that weird tolerance.

Does anyone know how Gabapentin interacts with benzos (ie Lorazepam)?

    thanks

sorry, SWIM forgot a tiny little SWIM there. Please someone delete this whole post because I'll be gettin 100s of negative reputations.

BTW if SWIM could delete it he would.

Gabapentin is the brand name of Neurotonin

Also, according to content.nejm.org Gabapentin has been used in combination with Lorazepam in a study at doses of 3200mg Gabapentin & 1.6mg Lorazepam without any negative interaction

Swivy is scripted gabapentin and clonazepam and alprazolam all at one and has never had (or been warned of by the pharmacist) adverse reactions. She has read in several places that gabapentin may lead to liver cancer. Thw most recreational value she's personally experienced have been fucked up aural hallunciationa and an of slight feeling of calm, well-being.

An interesting thing (as an aside) she's read about gabapening is that taking a dose with cola makes es it work a lot faster. Insuffilation has been Swiv's most effective method of administration though. :p

Sorry to double post here, but this is a pretty interesting question. Swiv doesn't IV/IM anything, but she had never even considered this as a MOA that one may do. Good question! on.

Swim wanted to know why that iving gabapentins are a NO! Swim was wondering if it had something to do with it not being soluable in water? Swim encountered a bunch of 300 gabapentins and wants to find out the best method of usngthem. He thinks that there must be a reasonable way to achieve this! Swim has told me that he also tried railing them a few times and he was able to get a decent buzz from that. Any input on why gabapentin cannot be ived and Swim would be happy :)

SWIPA is prescribed Gabapentin (400 mg's 3 times a day). He has yet to find any recreational value in oral or insufflated use. He has taken anywhere from 100 - 3000 mg's orally with no notable effects other than very mild changes in thought patterns which could just as well be placebo.

Insufflated use brought on a slight rush just from putting something up his nose (he believes). It burns like hell though and is probably not good at all for his nose and throat.

SWIPA has read many experiences where people have claimed to have gotten some recreational use out of Gabapentin and he believes that maybe it has produced recreational effects in individual users but he cannot claim this to be true for himself.

It does however help SWIPA a little bit with anxiety and anhedonia so he continues to take it as prescribed.

    P.A.

Swim is prescribed 800 mg 3x a day for Bipolar/Benzo Withdrawl (Even though he still takes Clonazepam) I've taken as much as 4 grams with little to no effect. Some Swimmers love em' and claim recreational effects while others like Swim get little to nothing, even with a benzo.

Swim basically just wants to know details on the dangers of IVin Gabapentin. He just wanted to know if there was maybe some type of filler or a binding agent of some sort that would be harmful when injected? He also wanted to know that if there are some sort of agent that is harmful when IVed, then would filtering it through a cotton help. Swim Just wants to know why?

Interestingly, SWIM just was wondering about the same shit (amazing what pure boredom, lack or "real drugs" and a vicious needle fixation will do, eh?), and he poked around the nets, onto legitimate medical literature (700-plus posts and he still doesnt know how to post a link, but Google "is gabapentin water soluble? and the answers pop up) and it turns out that gabapentin itself is almost 100% water soluble, its just the other crap in the capsule isnt, but with careful filtration this can be avoided. It's the night before Thanksgiving, SWIMs coke dealer never called back, and he's got a fresh pack of rigs and a bottle of gabapentin in front of him. He HAS gotten rec. FX from eating it and it has been a worthy benzo substitute, and people on other online drug related forums have claimed that IV-ing it leads to anything from no effect to a "GHB-like floatiness".
Guess what experiment is about to take place?
Damn this needle fixation to the bloody bowels of hell!
SWIM will have concrete answers for the questions in this thread tomorrow for you all.

Actually, you have that backwards; Neurontin is the brand name of the generic medication gabapentin.

    Just a heads up. :)
