I have recently heard that Gatorade is a good drink to refuel the body from the minerals loss of DXM trips, SWIM begun to drink Gatorade some weeks ago between intervals of small DXM trips, and feels that indeed the drink helps him to recover "faster"; placebo or truth?

I would say some truth to this because Gatorade is high in electrolytes.I would say Pedialyte would be even better.

Hmmm, I has to try that, he hates two day long hangovers from a high dose of the tussin.

I have never had a hangover from anything less than a 4th plateau experience (with grapefruit juice, no less). He thinks it's because he stays well-hydrated during his trips. DXM can make one forget one's body to the point that one will not even realize that one is thirsty, or hungry, or needs to pee. *smirk*

He's found club soda to be better than gatorade during the trip. He loves gatorade when tripping on RC's, but has found that it tastes...wrong when on DXM. Perhaps the electrolytes increase one's blood pressure, which is already increased when on DXM? He's not sure.

Electrolyte drinks are definitely good after the experience, however.

I will give that a try one day.
After SWIM trips he never likes to eat anything, yet he feels weak and malnutrition.

Maybe the gatorade will help with that.

It's preferably to take a complex carb source usch as starch than plain sugar. Maltodextrin in the last case.
