I'm not a doctor or a scientist, but I would reccomend you abide by your doctors advice, it's probably not worth the risk, it's only a couple of weeks and the abstinence could do you good.

I don't think many here will reccomend you take drugs contrary to the advice of a medical professional.

Im no doctor either but my advise is dont simply because you know how it is with cocaine.. a few lines is never enough IMO. so i sugget dont unless SWIY has strong self control.

BUNNIE is not a doctor and has no degree or any medical training. But here is what BUNNIE has to offer. Not so sure if cocaine itself is hard on the human liver. Usually the stuff its cut with, is what needs to be worried about. When in doubt refrain from use. Hope this is gives a rational and helpful outlook. Good luck, best wishes.

Cocaine is hepatotoxic, and can impair the liver's capacity to detoxify blood which can result in necrosis, among other things. If swiy do that, what swiy probably had already done if swiy really wanted since this thread is old, there probably wouldn't happen anything, but swim just wouldn't take the risk.

Is it me or is this post simply ridiculous. Of course DON'T use cocaine if you have liver problems. It's like recommending aspirin to someone with lacerations, just something you should not do. Doctors orders are doctors orders. Disobey them at your peril.

I don't wanna sound like you should ignore doctor order, specially in this case, but doctors act pretty much over the top some times.

If liver function was high wouldn't that cause a drug to have lower effectiveness in most cases?

A damaged liver is less able to efficiently metabolize a substance.

The liver is the principal organ that is capable of converting drugs into forms that can be readily eliminated from the body. But the liver can only take so much once it is effected it slows down - you can run the risk of getting chronic hepatitis, damage to liver blood vessels, viral hepatits just to name a few - so will pay to listen to your doctor, 2wks isn't that long when it's your body on the line - it is after all your temple. Good luck!

i Hope you abstained dude. doctors spend years learning about our insides. like the others said, it cant hurt to not do that for a couple weeks. It would serve all of us some good to abstain for any amount of time. So I will take a moment of silence for you before finishing my tea :) *UPDATE - took 10 seconds for ya ! down the hatch

Endoplasmic reticulum is in all cells in the body. The way the E.R. is developed decides what the function of that cell will do (along with many other protein variables, but I am not teaching that course today) To better imagine E.R. Think of the nucleus of the cell like a castle and the E.R. is like a maze that surrounds the castle to protect it. But this maze performs many tasks that protect the nucleus as well as form a protective barracks. Kind of like the movie Labrynth with David Bowie as the nucleus. The liver is composed of cells that have what is called Rough endoplasmic reticulum. (Rough E.R.) Rough E.R. are one major part of what the liver uses to digest all of the toxicity that we throw into our bodies shamelessly. Rough E.R. are unique because of their ability to process and digest OH molecules i.e. Hydroxyl molecules. These little daisies can do some major damage to your nervous system and muscle tissue if not properly controlled and broken down by your liver and kidney functions. But with an over flux of toxicity filtration the Rough E.R. can become bloated and expand at the "ports" of filtration. (This takes a lot of effort to do to a healthy liver)This can cause cell degradation at a massive rate, because you have to remember this is not one cell with it's Rough E.R. swelled, at this point when the Rough E.R. is not returning to normal status the whole liver and all of the cells in the liver are shocked in this way. Now let's back track for second. If you and your comrades, amigos, mates or BFF's go drinking in a night heavily, you are doing to this to your lliver; swelling the rough E.R. killing many cells and causing bloating of the liver, but after you your studs quit drinking for the night the liver than has time to kill off the damaged cells, reproduce new ones and sort out the whole mess with these lovely little cells called lysosomes. Their fantastic. They clean up all our little liver messes. The liver reproduces cells at a massive rate and we are happy again, but once a doctor tells you that your liver is fucked he is really saying that you that you created an environment within your liver where you have slowed the reproduction of healthy cells with Rough E.R., the cells are being reproduced degraded with swollen or nonfunctioning Rough E.R.'s and the metabolic ability to clean up your mess has decreased by a huge percentage. He/she is saying the your liver is going to into what we can call scarrifcation or petrification mode and your liver is ceasing the ability to regenerate itself (which the liver the only organ in the body the can regenerate organ tissue in the way it does) and that the canals of the liver have swelled and you are past/almost past a critical tipping point where the liver will soon not be able to reduce swelling and return to normal function. This is what is commonly known as sclerosis of the liver. Let's return to David Bowie for a moment shall we. Once the Rough E.R. has hit this point the cells begin to fill with toxicity that begins to fill into puss. The puss then drowns little david bowie and the cell membrane explodes, and not into candy my friend. Well I wont go into detail about what happens next, but I hope you feel better.

Oh by the way. To better answer the post. Cocaine in small amounts is not that hard on your liver. It's actually harder on your kidneys and cardiovascular system. But if your doctor is saying stop. Than stop all drug use and start eating beets. Lots of raw beets. Also at this point a liver cleanse is a bad idea. Your colon and pancreas are probably so far shutdown that you are going to have to start with cleansing them first then a liver cleanse. Pancreas needs a complete b vitamin, folic acid and linoliec acid. (You can get the acids in cotton seed oil) to start up again and there are many good colon cleanses to choose from. But remember do NOT do a liver cleanse without doing a colon cleanse first. good luck.
