Hey all, cat here! You've heard of Stupid Human Games? Well SWIM is currently engaged in Stupid Tweaker Games. :crazy

Background: SWIM was setting up a shot but this is his first time using a spoon, so he put too much water in to be able to reach the plunger. Didn't want to stick himself twice, so he parachuted that shot. Set up a second shot, hit it, but didn't feel it because he didn't put enough product in. Unrelated stuff happened that made SWIM have to move to a different location before continuing.

At the new location, what would be an awesome shot was arranged, but as SWIM was loading the syringe, that stuff he swallowed came on stronger than anticipated. So SWIM's now coasting nicely and wants to save the shot for later.

Questions: How long can a shot sit in the syringe? If it's left too long, what might happen?

Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

(and all this from a simple lack of proper planning, lol!)

Bacteria might set up, plunger might stick, cowboy seen meth mess up the rubber on certain syringes.

SWIM is quite sure it will last until the next re-dosing. SWIY should keep it somewhere cold - like fridge, that increases the risk of bacterial contamination.. 30 minutes before SWIY is ready to re-dose he should take it out of the fridge shake it up and do whatever he has to :)

Awright! Thanks to the both of you for the info and advice. Now that it's been mentioned, SWIM does recall the fridge method of storage being used by some FOAFs.

    Cute avatar btw, sambrenn. ;)

swim thinks it would be a good idea to put the liquid back in the spoon, reheat, then use a new syringe.

Yeah, this is what SWIM wound up doing.

Quick note, though, for potential readers: DO NOT heat up meth unless SWIY is smoking it, or it will evaporate!

yea swims never shot meth before, but that does make sense. swim would probably heat the meth/water solution a little just for anti-bacterial purposes.

^ Although that's a good idea in theory, it unfortunately doesn't work out in practice. Water needs to be boiled for sterilization, at a temperature of 100C/212F. Meth, however, boils at 78C/172F, so any product would boil away before any baddies would be killed. Meth can be slightly acidic, but the cat doesn't expect it to be enough to deter any of those nasty contaminants.

Best bet: keep all rigs and gear as sanitary as possible! SWIM is very lucky to have access to prepared sterile cottons, fresh points, and sterile water ampules...at least for now *sweat*

Swim can't imagine a good thick dose in an O2 free environment could possibly grow anything. Swim would certainly beware of the needle itself since it has been exposed to the air and has been in contact with a cotton ball among other things. Swim used to load 2 rigs for and all nighter and keep them in his sock with a jumbled rubber band securing the plungers in place. It would often be 12-18 hours before use. Swim never so much as got a dark red bump or anything. Swim also kept a box of alcohol pads in the glove box and prepped with them religiously.

swim has found loaded syringes he had stashed and forgotten years later (approx 8-9) plunger was a little sticky at first but it worked as if it was just drawn up.
