How many shots would you say a fifth of Wild Turkey holds?
Well, a fifth holds 25.6 ounces of liquor, and most shots are about 1 to 1.5 ounces. So thats 17 to 25 shots, depending on how you pour them!
good post, thanks for the compliment
Awesome, thanks alot bro.
anytime, happy drinkin
A fifth is a fifth of a gallon for the record!
Some people call em 26er's some people call em fifths either way you pour it like swiF said its 25.6 ounces. Roughly 26(er)
nice i didnt actually know why it was called that!!
^^i was actually wondering why it was called a fifth when i posted that!
once again markdahman comes through with what i want to know.
Damn you and your imperial measures.
I had to go onto google to find out what size bottle you were talking about. i'm guessing it's a 0.75L bottle or there abouts ? Just to save other metric users the trouble
In most Glasgow bars, you used to get shots in measures of 1/4 of a gill (35.5ml or 1.2 US ounces). At that rate you get just under 20 shots to a standard 70cl bottle of spirits. However to my great disgust, most are now moving to 25ml shots - which is less than 1/5th of a gill - without any associated reduction in price.
One bar I know though has a sign up saying "This pub serves, and will only ever serve, whisky in quarter gills - the gentleman's measure."
Wins my custom.
Yup I was just on google too. Common terms include...
Damn imperial system!
Half the time I've no idea how much alcohol people are talking about on this forum.
i was trying to figure this out a few days ago. lived in america so long still can't deal with the imperial. i always have to ask which is embarrasing!
thanks for clarifying!
