I'd like to know opinions on this topic. Is paranoia (or panic attack) more likely to be induced from Indica or Sativa strains? :s

I'd love any insight on the matter. I come from a long line of panicky people, and I wonder if a certain strain is prone to cause more stress than others.

    Thanks! :)

SWIM has only ever gotten paranoia from schwag, regardless if it was sativa or indica. Though SWIM always got paranoia from the two-toke Afghani strain he smoked throughout high school. If SWIM had to chose for SWIY, he'd pick him/her a sativa.

From swim's experience, when it is a strain that is heavily sativa it would bring a more excited state and so the paranoia associated would hence also be a more excited paranoia, indica on the other hand would also bring a slight bit of paranoia but in a much deeper relaxed paranoia ha. When it is a hybrid strain, it usually feels less paranoia in swims opinion.

Swim smoked both (almost) pure sativa and (almost) pure indica strains... the sativa strains made him very paranoid, and the indica strains made him very slow and relaxed, almost the opposite of paranoid.

Interesting, Swim has never knowingly taken any Sativa strain, but it is on his list to do. If swim had to guess, based purely on what swim has read in growers forums, indica strains are "lazy" and couch lock-y whilst sativa is more heady\giddy.

swim has had panic attacks from indica strains for sure, but it might have been the cheap street crap he bought, so he says.

Either indica or sativa can cause paranoia. Some people report that sativa is more likely to cause paranoia, but this has never actually been looked at objectively; it could be a myth. Regardless of the 'nature' of the high, weed can cause paranoia.

It is generally believed that Cannabis sativa strains are more prone to causing paranoia and anxiety in users, whereas Cannabis indica strains are anxiolytic and relaxing ("couch-lock"). Regardless, all strains of Cannabis are quite capable of producing paranoia.

As far as I am aware, the current theory is that C. sativa contains a very high quantity of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol, which causes negative psychological sensations such as fear, whereas C. indica has higher levels of other cannabinoids including cannabidiol, which may help to regulate THC's action and suppress unwanted effects.

Cowboy agrees. He normally waits until night time to toke up, when he normally smokes indicas that are so strong that he falls asleep immediately once he gets into bed. It's pretty hard to be paranoid when you're asleep. The only panic attacks that Cowboy has ever suffered were from trippy sativas.

Sativa is associated with a strong mental high, while Indica is more recognized for its body buzz.

Odds are, Cannabis Sativa is your culprit.
