The short answer is: no, it is very dangerous.

Codeine should never be used intravenously, as it might lead to severe allergic reactions or even a pulmonary edema. It would also be pointless, as codeine is a prodrug to morphine and needs to be converted by the liver enzyme CYP2D6 to morphine to be active.

There are some intravenous formulations of tramadol available but these are usually given via a slow injection (i.e. administered in the course of minutes if SWIM has understood correctly). Trying to make an intravenous solution of tramadol capsules or tablets would be even more risky than doing the same with other pills. And again, it would be almost pointless, as most of the opioid effects of tramadol are produced by its active metabolite O-desmethyltramadol following the same hepatic conversion as codeine (namely the CYP2D6-enzyme).

In case you need a second opinion: NO! While tramadol that is specifically prepared for IV/IM is obviously suitable for IV/IM, crushed pills are another story and codeine can NEVER be IVed! Plus codeine IV wont even get you high - it needs to be converted in your body to the proper chemical. It is super dangerous and can cause you tons of harm and wont even get you high ;)

Yes, injecting in such ways don't work at all.
    Thanks for the info.
