    Hello All,

Long time no post, but I'm back with a question or two for the "Pro"
    Kava users here..

Just received my order of Kava and Kratom today from the shaman
place, so I was pretty excited to try both, as I have heard good
    things about this supplier.

About an hour ago, I mixed one and a half table spoons full of my
Kratom in a very small amount of orange juice, and I must say that I
am pretty happy at this time. I think I will try about three table
    spoons full next time around.

But, my questions this time are about the Kava.

I have done a Kava search here in the forums, and here is what I
have gathered so far. please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

    1) I should store my Kava in the freezer to keep it fresh

    2) For best experience, I should use some amount of vegi oil, and mix
    with the Kava.

Okay, if the above is true, then here are my questions:

    1) When mixingmy Kava with vegi oil, what type of a mix ratio should
    I be shooting for?

    2) Would a "Pro" Kava user be kind enough to walk me through the
steps of this process, and what I should do prior to ingestion for
    maximum effect?

    3) Has anyone tried Kava and Kratom together, and if so, what were
the effects. (This would be for later testing, as I want to try the
    Kava by itself first)

I appreciate any info that you care to share with me on this.

    Peace,

    1) Yea, storing in a freezer should help. I had a nice batch of whole roots that I left in my room for about 8 months. When I made the brew it had very little effects compared to before.

    2) Many experienced users claim that veggie oil, or anything fatty works at extracting the alkaloids. I have tried this, and I believe this may be true. I also tried milk, which works good and tastes good to. You don't need to use fatty liquids though, it's fine without.

3)A few splashes of oil should work I suppose, I never measured it out.

    4) For the best brew, I would do the follwoing...

-Wash your damn dirty hands cause your gonna be using the

-Pour your mixture of water, oil, milk, ectninto a bowl.

-Get some cheese cloth and wrap you powderized kava in it.

-Press the hell out of the cheese cloth using your fingers for about 10-20 mins.

    -Strain and enjoy.

This method is an alternative to the heating method. It is supposed to save the alkaloids from being destroyed by the heat. I have tried it and it aint bad. An alternative would be to use a blender instead.

    5) Have never tried them together, but if I had some kava I would for sure.

    Hi Sands,

    Thanks for the reply...

What type of dosage are we talking about here?
One table spoon of stuff, one cup, etc?...

Also, is it okay to just take the whole substance, or should I strain it?
I read people straining, but as with Kratom, I don't mind just taking it
    as an entire concoction.

    Thanks,
    Lost

As I remember, I used around 2-4 tablespoons of kava powder per dose. It's been awhile since I drank kava tea though. I always strain mine, especially with kratom.
