I always tried to take his opiats on an empty stomach, but has finally switched to kratom only and noticed that some fruit or a light snack just before or right afterwards might actually help kratom get into his bloodstream better.
His hypothisis? Eating a little causes your stomach to produce acid, bringing ph level down to about one. This helps break down the kratom also.
You should try it...... I'd like to hear the opinions afterwords.
I do the old toss-n-wash method. 4 teaspoons, which is about 5 grams of Bali powder.

I agree that having a little something, fruit especially, is great for the nausea aspect of Kratom... However, SWIM disagrees with the acid hypothesis. SWIM notices no difference after taking H2 blockers (Axid, Prevacid) and taking Kratom. Prevacid does exactly what it's name implies - Prevent Acid.

Citrus, I believe, is readily absorbed by the mucus membranes in the stomach, so perhaps the difference in feeling for you has something to do with the Kratom being attached or absorbed with the vitamin C from citrus? Plus it's nice not to feel nauseous.

I find that the the emptier the stomach, the more immediate and intense the effects. If taken on a ful stomach, the kratom seems to be digested at around the pace of the food, leading to a much more gradual and hence less intense absorption (which can on the other hand be useful for tapering).

And by the way, I'm not sure how big your teaspoons are, but I find 1 heaped teaspoon to be 5g!

When people talk about teaspoon measurments they are (or should be) talking about the actual level 'teaspoon' measurment, not just any regular teaspoon they pull out of a kitchen drawer.

1 teaspoon is 5ml, the amount in weight of Kratom (or anything else) it holds will depend on how finely powdered it is and how well packed down it is on the measuring spoon.

I agree that the emptier the stomach the better the effect, and the faster the absorbtion the stronger the effect too which is why Swim likes to take his Kratom in tea form where the alkaloids are already extracted and can be absorbed much faster than with powder.
I always got the most intense Euphoria using tea, the effects might last longer with eating powder but it is more drawn out.
