Think this is ok, if You gets rid of all the solvent. Good drying is necessary.

I would use some solvent and water, so you've got two layers. The sugar and all the other crap go into the water phase, and the DXM should wander in the solvent phase.
SWIM suggests You to put the solvent phase on a big plate to speed up evaporation. No heating, especially not on an open flame.

    EDIT:
Does You know that there are also capsules and pills containing DXM?

Mineral spirits are not recommended for extractions as they leave residues of nasty stuff behind. Naptha is just plain Zippo lighter fluid.

Yeah, I know. My grandma tried them a few times but they always feel wrong for some reason.. like the trip is shittier. Maybe she's a little allergic to something in the capsules? She's used both the Robo brand and the generic CVS brand with the same results.

The lighter fluid posted above worked lovely for my cat's extraction.

    why not use another solvent?
Heptane, benzene, toluene, diethyl ether. SWIM asumes they might even be better.

They of curse are better than the usual OTC crap. But since some people haven't got any access to them...

Just a note of caution bezzz, I've been hearing that Zippo has started adding something else to their lighter fluid. I'm not sure where this is happening (the UK maybe) or for that matter even IF it's actually happening, but it only takes a couple seconds to check the ingredients. I know for sure that Ronsonol lighter fluid is only naptha. So when in doubt use that.

Just wanted to make sure no one got sick because Zippo decided to "improve" their product. If anyone else has heard this, and can confirm/deny it's authenticity, please do. ;)
