Why is it that whenever I does DXM, he says music sounds like shit. I could only describe the music as being "cheap and plastic sounding". The music is also speeded up too. Sometimes the songs are so fast, they sound nothing like the song. Does You also think that music sucks on DXM?

Not at all! My friend Swim assures me that music sounds richer, deeper, and better when on DXM than whilst sober.

I guess the same drug really can have different effects on different individuals. :)

I know a swim who says that led zepplin sounds amazing on dxm. Any chilled out relaxed music sends him into a great state of euphoria.

For SWIM, music definitely sounded different although it could vary from
one experience to the next. Sometimes it sounded really deep, kind of like
how it sounds on mushrooms or acid, while sometimes it sounded just plain
weird - pitch sounded off, choppy, etc. SWIM actually got a lot of
enjoyment when experiencing the latter - especially if you know what the
song is really supposed to sound like!

I am currently on DXM and is listening to led zepplin and it sounds amazing. If you dont know what to listen to then listen to all of my love and baby im gunna leave you and stairway to heaven it will blow your mind. My listening to mainly those songs and they are amazing to him. So take it from swim when he says that led zepplins good on dxm he means it because hes on it and listening to it.

I have found that this REALLY depends on plateau I have landed on.
Lover level plateau, richer sounding music. SWIM remember occassion when sitting on 2nd plateau sound from really cheap plastic cassette player sound was like in opera on the other hand, when on high 3rd or even 4th plateau, sound is just that - plastic, lifeless.

BTW, this sound thing is mentioned in White's DXM FAQ also.

Kurtis, a friend of mine, is having his first experience with 60ml of Syrup
containing 2mg Bromidrato de Dextrometorfano and 0.5 mg Cloridrato de efedrina per ml.
    On an empty stomach.

He must say, he feels quite intoxicated, stony, drunk, heart racing, probably due
    to the ephedrine.
Anyhow, back to topic: Beatles (which he usually worships) got him bored,
while all of a sudden Miss Kittin radio off Pandora.com seems to do the trick for him.:)

There's a similar post about this already, but Swim notices at lower plateus such as 1st and 2nd that music is very euphoric and sounds amazing to swim. However, once swim reaches the 3rd plateu, he gets that "plastic" music feeling. the music sounds more like random sounds that do not fit together. he ends up feeling like he's just in a room conversing with the singer(s) and the instrumentals are just background noise. Swim still likes to keep some music playing to block out actual background noise. Once swim reaches the 3rd plateu he finds Jimmy Eat World to be almost too heavy and intense, just to give an example of how sensitive swim becomes to sounds.

Listen to slow techno music. It's crazy on DXM.

one of the best things to do is listen to music one wouldn't usually listen to.
