Have you ever noticed any negative side-effects from taking RC's? Like
with MDMA, a bad memory and being depressed for the first 3/4 days(and
    often a whole month)?

Also, are there any RC's who work the same way MDMA does, with the serotonine-receptors??

From years experience I've learned how valuable the
serotonine-receptors are and how much influence they have on your mood
and memory (and lots of other things)..

I experienced only one time a kind of depression with 2CI.

Other 2C-X family members haven't caused for me such side effects.

The only other Research Chemical that provoked for me a sligh depressiv mood was methylone.

Such products shouldn't not be used during a period when a person's feeling are on the "dark side" [IMG]

Spacing the trips as much as possible out is the best way to avoid depression.

The other could be to consume vitamines and brain anti-oxydant (like 5-htp) before and after the trip. CONCERNING THIS PURPOSE, HAS ANYONE MORE ACCURATE INFORMATIONS ?

I heard that using vitamin B6 is important....

^ 5-HTP is not a "brain anti-oxydant" but a serotonin precursor, and its utility remains questionable.

all known classes of psychedelics (phenylethylamines, tryptamines, ergolines) affect serotonin receptors, primarily 5-HT2a / 5-HT2c subclasses.

however, unlike with MDMA, serotonin receptor damage / downgrading has not yet been well studied in human abuse and challange dose models with the newer drugs. this does not preclude the possibility that such, and much more extensive damage can occur.

most 2C's seem to have significant somatic side effects (body load) and psychological damage from indiscriminate tripping on 2C's ranges from severe HPPD to cognitive decline, to outright psychotic breakdowns.

just follow a few posts on the forums by those taking high doses of 2C-I over time to see what i mean. they usually start with "will it ever go away?"

    MODERATION is key.

The only really negative side effects I've noticed is a bit of body load on 2C-I, which isn't really that bad to be honest. However I have real problems with both 2CT-2 and 2C-E. They make him throw up violently for at least half an hour and put him in a bad headspace for the rest of the trip.

On DPT I get the shakes, though I'm not sure if that's a bad side effect, or the unleashing of some spiritual energy!

I have been taking 5 htp for depression for the past few months and I
can say that without a doubt that this stuff works beautifully and it
also works great for after taking certain substances.

2C-D left me with a bit of a depressed feeling after the trip, it
lasted for the remainder of the day, it also caused a bit of a
dissociated feeling. Not like with DXM or something similar (as that
would have been fun) but more of an 'out of tune with life depressed
    feeling'...I didnt care for that.

A couple of times on 2c-b I threw up, the trip was relatively pleasant afterward though.

    Side Effects? What side effects?

I had to chuckle when I read Peyote's post. If I took a drug that left me depressed for at least3 days afterwards (or a MONTH afterwards), I would probably not take it very often.

The good news is, there are a lot of Research Chemicals out there. If one of them affects you in a negative way, that's the one to pass on. Try another one: Hey! This one doesn't bother me after it's over.

I have experience with 4-HO-DiPT and 5-MeO-DiPT. These guys are about the same in some ways (they last 12 hours; I come down clean; the next day I feel the afterglow).

One thing about uncomfortable feelings that persist into the next day. If my journey was a good one (I see this world as a wonderful place to be in), it is easy to become a little disjointed when I return to this so-so existence.

While I have not tried MDMA (but hope to try it some day, if I find any), I hear that it opens up the heart to waves of compassion. So, you are floating along, knowing that humanity is sacred and wonderful ... and then come back to this less-invitingworld. This is the time to Let Go of your huge change in perspective. Try to be grateful for the Utopian view of life you just had (after all, it is a blessing).

There are 2 worlds which exist: (1) The world, and (2) My perspective of the world. When I am sitting around at home, deciding to go somewhere, I dream of how wonderful everything will go. Then, when I get there, I face the reality of what actually happens (usually quite a bit less than my dream).

The trick in life, then, is for me to be happy (enough) about what actually happened to me. This trick is not always easy, and must be repeated each time (but, it's better than crashing and burning).

It has nothing to do with tricks. Stop being silly. After taking MDMA
you can, and 9/10 times, depressed. And we all know why! Research has
    been done on this subject.

    Oops! Pardon me, Peyote.

Well, I did not know about the MDMA side effects being so well documented. I do not know anything about MDMA itself.

I did not mean to give you bumb advice; I just was trying to pull it into the realm of other RCs.

I am sorry that you are having such a rough time of it. Good luck in finding a way around your problem (such as the thread on Swim, and his new MDMA-like RC).

I have noticed tracers that won't leave, he gets higher when he
smokes weed, at one point after taking 100mg of 2c-i in 2 weeks SWIM
felt like he was tripping when he got into large groups of people. As
though there was too much sensory input to deal with. But that either
went away or he learned to live with it and doesn't notice. After those
2 weeks he also noticed shaking in his hands for several mornings when
he woke up for a few minutes.

He feels like he's done something to his brain that's irreversible, mostly pleasant, but it worries him considering the future.

Your friend "SWIM" should steer clear of ALL psychedelics, even pot, for awhile. Taking 100mg of 2-CI in 2 weeks shows a lack of responsibility in the first place. I should be taking vitamins and minerals, eating a good diet, and getting a good night's sleep to restore his head's normal chemical balance. The after-effects of such abuse will subside, but not overnight. Continuing to take more psychedelics while still registering the effects of this slow-overdose could well imprint his/her neuro-pathways once and for all. SWIM then might end up on a poster from the NIMH with the caption: DON'T BE A "SWIM"! STAY AWAY FROM PSYCHEDELICS!

I agree with the last statement, since I developed symptoms of HPPD (Hallucinogen Perstistent Perception Disorder) as
well. This seems to be a side effect, we can expect from almost all
psychedelics and Research Chemicals (especially Tryptamines and PEAs), maybe even the
    less visual ones.

If the HPPD gets heavier you might be really anoyed because it is
getting difficult to distinguish between colours, shapes, light,
object representations...even faces. I also thought it is nice and
enjoyable in the beginning. but laterwards... [IMG]

Staying away for a while from Psychedelics and definitely also from
Cannabis means: months or longer until the symptoms are gone. Took me
about a year to let them dissappear (not to zero, but almost). Depends
on how heavy it developed. For some HPPDlers it is irreversible.

Eh, well, that was about 7 months ago. The hallucinations dont go away
but they weaken and strengthen, but they're not getting worse. He kept
smoking weed with one shroom trip a month or so later, maybe less,
smoked a bunch of herb, hand full of kpins, drank about once a month.
Just over the past 2 months has he been starting tripping again on
shrooms. Shrooms aren't bad, but the 2c-e is kinda on the sketch side,
but he's decided not to take it very often and things are going good.
I am kind of emotionally unstable but still thinks rationally and
    intelligently which gets him by.

I doubt my HPPD will ever go away forever, but he's not going to let it get to the point of negatively impacting his life.

Also, actually, he had a bad trip with the dxm and 2c-i two days after
he took 40mg of 2c-i, and it involved the hatred of tv addiction. And
now he's not able to take enjoyment out of television, but he considers
that a good thing in his life, but it makes it harder for him to make
personal connections with other people, "Did you see...", "No, i didn't
I don't watch tv, I hate it." "Oh, uh..." Yeah it's definitely impacted
his neuropathways, but he's still able to have a happy, productive,
self reliant life. But it still makes him wonder what the future of his
mind will have in store for him.

I've started to notice some side effects of Methylone, a very nice Research Chemical that yields similar effects to MDMA. One dis-heartening side effect is depression. I think it's because my serotonin levels are being depleted so much. I've taken Methylone/Explosion once/twice a weekend for about 2 months straight now. Obviously, my serotonin levels have been reduced tremendously. I don't get AS depressed as when taking MDMA but I've definitely noticed some dejection.

Another side effect is dehydration which nobody has really talked about with Methylone. I make sure I drink a ton of water the day after ingesting Methylone/Explosion.

I don't know about methylone, but I do know that MDMA, and family, will wash out your electrolytes. Hence drinking water the next day is not good enough. One should be drinking something like Gatorade during the experience. And after as well.

I personally found one side effect of the tryptamines that I tried
over the years. I like to add it here in this thread. It only applies
to all the longer effecting Tryp's I tried yet (can't say anything
about 5-meo-dmt and n,n dmt, because they are gone to quickly and I don't remember it): e.g.
    Mushrooms, some x-xxx-m/dipt's, Acid,...

Kind of a weak edema. Sorry, didn't find the right word for it. Edema is usually used
for water going out of the blood into the body tissue or other organs
for example the brain, the loungs, the skin,...it needs medical
threadment and you can die from it when come to an extrem version. High
altitude climbers got it (mostly higher 4000 meters) - it is the
"sickness" people die from on the top of the world mountains. I don't mean
THAT extreme. There is not such an extreme reaction I felt from any
drug. But a slight version of "water is going out of the blood into the
tissue" you all know from long oversea flights (when you took of your shoes and
didn't fit in on the lenght of the flight). Or from hiking higher
2000m. Sometimes visible because the hands or face is swollen a bit (than more water under the skin). I mean
really not that much, just a LITTLE bit. Even after lots of stress or a
night with lots of alcohol or weed does it.

It seems a simple reaction from the body to regulate something...I
don't know what, like a slightly higher body temperature does the same
(In this comparison I don't mean fever...I just mean the slight
    increasing).

Okay...I hope I could explain it a bit...THIS is what happens to me
with most drugs. And also with Tryptamines, Research Chemicals or illegal. Slightly swollen face
afterwards (next morning) in the mirror is the prove. I saw it on
photos as well. It took me years to identify it but it was there from
the beginning... and I always thought tryptamines are pretty safe and
not too unhealthy. But at least they change something with the
bodyfluids for the time of the effect and a bit longer.

    Any thoughts on that?

I have noticed negative side effects from all Research Chemicals he has tasted. However they are generally not bad and worth it for the positive benefits. SWIM also noticed negative side effects from the classic psychedelics.

Side effects include: Excess muccus, coughing up phlegm. Nausea. GI discomfort. Anorexia. Muscle termors, sometimes a lot of shaking or shivering, jitters. Light headache. Jaw tension, aka acid jaw. Muscle tension. Slight cramps. Chills. Discoordination. More sensitivity to light, even days later. Light so bright it hurts. Other HPPD like symptoms like permanent tracers, wavy vision, exaggerated contrast, getting visuals from good marijuana or from being drunk, some other visual things, never heard of anyonehaving aflashback though. Whole face sometimes hurts from permagrin and laughing excessivly, changes in mood the following day. Impaired speech. Inability to function. Excessive laughing (could be a negative side effect [IMG]).

I'm sure there are more side effects I couldn't think of. Also sometimes I will get absolutly no side effects, and other times from the same material under similiar conditions and same dosage, nausea or some other side effects will surface.

One last thing, I have not come across a material that consistanly shows negative side effects in himself, although he has seen it in other people. I know a person who vomits every time from 2C-Eand2C-I, but he still eats it.
