In the mid 1960's Ken Kesey and his friends (called the Merry Pranksters) drove around (and across country) in their psychedelic painted bus (called Further) giving out free LSD. Ken encouraged a lot of people to try acid. The man was a legend.

This is him in his in the 60's:

    This was his original bus:

This was his second bus (Ken is the one with the sward):

And this is where Ken is today:

    Ken will be remembered.

The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test</span> by Tom Wolfe is required reading for anyone interested in Kesey. Great book.

Sad to here about Ken. The last time i read anything from him was his article in the special Rolling Stone issue about 9/11 where he discribed how the world became clear through our televisionsfor about 24 hours as even the illusion of American media was shattered that day. Before that I saw him in an interview on Late Night with Bob Costas, god more than 10 years ago now, where he talked about drugs, the electric Kool-Aid acid test, and read from his latest childrens book. Read some of his books, or read the Electric KoolAid Acid Test. Good stuff.
