Hi, I’m new here, with a question. I found some interesting little vials and bottles at an estate sale, including a few labeled LSD and mescaline. They are empty. Apparently they had been used by someone doing research long ago. I’ll probably be putting them on eBay, and that’s why I’m here, to see if anyone can tell me more accurately their age, rarity, value, or anything else of interest. I know from the research I’ve done on LSD and Sandoz Co. that that one must be from the 1950s or 1960s, but I would like to be able to pinpoint their age if that is possible.

First, the Mescaline. Here’s everything written on the bottle:

    1904 - 1gm - LOT D3303

    MESCALINE HCl C.P.

    POISON

FOR INVESTIGATIONAL USE ONLY - NOT FOR DRUG USE

    MANN RESEARCH LABORATORIES, INC.

    NEW YORK
    6, N.Y.
(in pen someone has written “1/61”)

    And, the LSD vial:

    DELYSID

    ( D-Lysergic Acid Diethylamide Tartrate )

    100 mg. - 890013

SANDOZ CHEMICAL WORKS Inc. - NEW YORK, N.Y.
CAUTION: New Drug – Limited by Federal Law to investigational use.
    RESEARCH MATERIAL
    POISON
Caution: Federal law prohibits dispensing without prescription.

Thanks a lot. Any comments will be appreciated.

Your curios are from pre-1966, which is when Sandoz halted exports of LSD-25 (Delysid) to the USA. The Mann company was, indeed, a seller of synthetic mescaline back yonder. So I am inclined to believe you have the real articles/artifacts.

It would be impossible to put a price or value on your find. Someone would give you a dollar. Someone else would give you a thousand. And someone else might offer you a shiny, new nickel. But I can tell you this: The items you have belong in a museum that is yet to be built. I'd hold onto to them for now if I was in your shoes.

My sea monkeys have been holding on to their old RC-shipment containers for their later historic value. It'd be hard to offer them enough money to take them away.

The Psychedelics Museum. Now there's a project a body could get behind.

Well you could always put it in the DEA Museum
DO NOT LINK FROM HERE TO DEA, FBI, CIA, ETC!

But the fact that LSD was dispensed by a pharmeceutical company might undermime the message theyre trying to send of drugs having been invented by homosexual Isalmic fanatics in order to get America so high that the Soviets can just walk in and take armed with nothing more than colorful posters and cookies.

Swmi´s so angry that he was grabbing his pervitin tube so often, not realizing, that he should have treated it more carefully to avoid the prints coming of...
where could he find a perfect conditon, full box of perv from the seventies again?
At least he took some photos of it, some years later when he was realizing that this might be a precious document of time´s past and realizing that it´s worn from grabbing it.

Of course this doesn´t beat having a vial of Delysid or LSD 25 ;D

I've added images of the LSD, Mescaline, and Methadone vials I found to the Member Galleries section, for those who'd like to see them. That will have to serve as the Museum for now.

I'd also like to say that those are a definately interesting find. One day I hope they will be carefully displayed in a museum of psychedelics and psychoactives. Please keep good care of them for us, or otherwise find someone responsible to entrust them to.
