questions about San pedro cacti

    ok so i'm getting ready to order some San pedro and i've got a few questions


    1. how easy do they grow and how soon can you harvest them. I'm getting cuttings 10-14cm long and 4-6cm wide. I'm planning on eating some of them right away though


    2. It says that if they are dried they are more potent how should i dry them out?


    3. WHat is the trip like how long does it last etc.

    1. How easy they grow depends on where you live, on how warm/sunny your
    climate is. My cacti (I live in NL and have only eastfacing windows)
    grow only about 15cm (6 inches) a year. They stay thin too. In an
    optimal environment they can grow up to 50cm (20 inches) a year.

    2. How do you wnat to consume them? They donĀ“t get more potent by
    drying. Drying removes the water and what remains has of course a
    higher percentage of alkaloids than cacti with water still in it. If
    you want to make a tea, drying is not necessary.

    3. The nature of the trip is difficult to express in words. It is the
    same as to explain someone, who has never seen a lion, how a lion
    looks. His imagination of a lion, based on your verbal discription,
    would probably not resemble the looks of a real lion.

    Generally you can say that the alkaloids are hallucinogenic. A full
    trip lasts up to 12 hours. Cacti are no candy. They are harsh stuff.
    Something for/from people that are used to eat raw and unrefined food.
    With shrooms I only have a heavy feeling for about an hour in my
    stomache. After then I have a trip nearly without any sideeffects.
    Cacti always give me sideeffects. Even after the nausea is gone. A
    feeling of restlesness and often a slight physical unpleasantness.
    After the trip I cannot sleep the whole night.

    cacti are realy easy to grow. i cant tell you anything about the
    trip since i just love my plants. my pedros areoles are starting
    to split horizontaly. it looks like im getting 3 more pups on top
    of the 1 thats already broken surface.
    just make the cut then make a V of the bottom. easy as pie just
    give your self 3 months with pedros and you wont want to chop
    them! [​IMG]
