    I have been using salvia occasionally but one thing I have noticed is that if I smoke it before I go to bed it keeps me awake for a long time. When I do fall asleep though I have very strange dreams. Does anyone else have this reaction as well?

    Actually alot of my friends had the opposite experience they tried it for the first time and all four of them got very tired and went to sleep after the experience. The next day they all said it was because of the salvia. wierd.

    I have to agree with RoboCop on this. I actuallyhadthe most restfulsleep after smoking 10x salvia in recent memory. I didn't expect that at all, so it surprised me the next morning when I woke up ready for work (I'm not typically a morning person). I'm sure that salvia has some impact on the part of your brain that regulates sleep patterns, but that's really just circumstantial speculation

    i have noticed this too. After my last 20x experience i had some of the best, deepest sleep of my life. I think part of it is because the salvia trip is so taxing on the brain, at least it always has been for me. The confusion of the trip and the period afterwards trying to sort things out always left me exceedingly tired.

    I too took a nap after my experience. It was only like 20-40 mins
    and I woke up feeling GREAT!!! Honestly the best I have felt in a
    very long time over 2 years I'd say. Just so relaxed and
    refreshed! I couldn't beleive it, espically since I didn't
    particularry like the body load (ok so I really didn't like it couldn't
    wait to come back) but after a small nap I felt GREAT!

    I have horable sleeping problems so maybe that has something to do with my sleeping problems after salvia. When I would use salvia, I would do enough for 2 trips, maybe I needed more?

    It is very interesting that you are all talking about Salvia and sleep. I have ben using Salvia for over a year now to treat my sleep walking. I have the adult version of childhood sleepwalking. With out Salvia I often sleep walk every night. I smoke Salvia about once a month and it stops the sleep walking with almost 100% effectiveness for a period of time ranging from 3 to 5 weeks. After this time the sleep walking starts to return and I smoke Salvia again.

    If it was not for the Salvia I would have to use clonazepan to treat my sleep walking. Clonazepan is highly addictive drug related to valium that must be taken every night to treat sleepwalking. Salvia, at least for me, needs only be taken about once a month. I usually smoke the 10X extracts. I go ontwo or three trips the night that I smoke.

    I have noticed that Salvia also does seem to produce vivid dreams, this effect was more common when I first started using it.

    None of this is intended to imply that anyone reading this post should use Salvia to treat any medical condition or use for any other purpose.

    sands, I've noticed the same thing. It takes a few hours after a
    strong Salvia-smoking experience to fall asleep. Once asleep the
    quality is fine and I feel great the following days, physically and
    emotionally (there's some anecdotal evidence of its being an
    antidepressant and I'd agree, and it doesn't take more than a 2 or 3 on
    the S-A-L-V-I-A scale to get that).<!--

    var SymReal;

    Sym()
    {
    window.open = SymWinOpen;
    if(SymReal != null)
    SymReal();
    }

    SymOnLoad()
    {
    if(SymRealOnLoad != null)
    SymRealOnLoad();
    window.open = SymRealWinOpen;
    SymReal = window.;
    window. = Sym;
    }

    SymRealOnLoad = window.onload;
    window.onload = SymOnLoad;

    is there any negative qualities or side effects other
    than sleep patterns that you guys have experience with.
    How is it to your social life.

    Well, the experience itself isn't the most "social" thing at higher
    levels, although sometimes it's pretty hilarious in small groups.
    (Laughter, the absurd "I've been here before" feeling.) Only good
    social effects afterwards, a nice antidepressant quality if I'm
    somewhat blue. I use it in moderation, just weekly or monthly
    even, and actually haven't used it much lately. But it's good to
    know it's there. There's nothing else like it.

    thats pretty interesting, I was very close to buying
    some at the headshop today but it was $30/g of 10x. I
    thought that was too steep and im sure it's not worth
    that much, i decided to go on a mission for yay instead,
    but that didn't go thru. neways, salvia seems promising,
    i tried it once but i dont think i broke thru, i just
    started feeling gravity pull me and my mind felt like it
    got stuck on my surroundings almost if my entire
    awareness became my desk and chair i was sitting at.
    pretty wierd. any thing learned while on salvia ?

    Although prices range greatly depending where you get it. I would
    pay $30 for a gram of 10x as I use 100mg(.1g) as a dose each time so
    that way I would see that as $3 per hit and a salvia trip is
    worth $3 to me!

    Just TRY to sleep for a few hours.

    I have tried Salvia 3 times. While the effects wear-off in 10 minutes or so, I feel tired after an hour. But, when I lie down, I wake right back up.

    I have actually used this to help me get over the tiredness. I lie down for 2 minutes, and I am wide awake. When I get get up, I notice a calmness that lasts for a couple hours.

    But, I have found that I cannot actually go to sleep for at least 5 hours after a dose.

    Reading some of the posts, I wish my body would allow this to be a sleeping medicine. But that's the way things are, everybody is different.

    Every time Ive smoked Salvia and vaulted into 'salvia space', Ive had a super-intense lucid dream. One of these dreams was so vivid that I acutally woke up in the dream and realized that I was dreaming and from that point on it felt like I was completely conscious in the world I was in. That was a few years ago, and to this day I'm still in awe when I think back to that memory.

    I wonder what Salvia and Calea would do in combination?[IMG]

    I've heard that Salvia can make you very sleepy after you come down,
    because your mind has been worked so much. Don't know if it's true or
    not. I've never done it before, but I would assume this holds at least
    a little bit of truth.
