    Skelaxin (Metaxalone)??? recreation dosage

    Do not take a double dose of this medication.

    What other drugs will affect Skelaxin?
    • Many drugs can increase the effects of Skelaxin, which can lead to heavy sedation. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
    · antihistamines such as brompheniramine (Dimetane, Bromfed, others), chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton, Teldrin, others), azatadine (Optimine), clemastine (Tavist), and many others;
    · narcotics (pain killers) such as meperidine (Demerol), morphine (MS Contin, MSIR, others), propoxyphene (Darvon, Darvocet), hydrocodone (Lorcet, Vicodin), oxycodone (Percocet, Percodan), fentanyl (Duragesic), and codeine (Fiorinal, Fioricet, Tylenol #3, others);
    · sedatives such as phenobarbital (Solfoton, Luminal), amobarbital (Amytal), and secobarbital (Seconal);
    · phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine (Thorazine), fluphenazine (Prolixin), mesoridazine (Serentil), perphenazine (Trilafon), prochlorperazine (Compazine), thioridazine (Mellaril), and trifluoperazine (Stelazine); or
    · antidepressants such as doxepin (Sinequan), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), phenelzine (Nardil), and tranylcypromine (Parnate).
    • Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Skelaxin. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines.

    what would be a nice starter dose of this for swim, he also has darvocet on had to increase the effcts

    SWIM found an aspirin bottle full of pale pink tablets, each containing 400 milligrams of metaxalone once. He took two or three every now and then for a week and noticed nothing.

    The side effect of this is to make you sleepy - taking too much is not going to get you high, it's going to make you groggy and you'd be better off using booze to get high than that. IMHO

    Re: skelaxin

    Wife was on these for a while, it is more of a sedative than a muscle relaxer. She was taking 800mg three times a day. They wasn't doing nothing for her muscle spasms, so her doctor switched her to Bacoflen.
    SKELAXIN® (metaxalone) is indicated as an adjunct to rest, physical therapy, and other measures for the relief of discomforts associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. The mode of action of this drug has not been clearly identified, but may be related to its sedative properties. Metaxalone does not directly relax tense skeletal muscles in man.

    Swim would say it is not of any recreational use. Does more harm the good when used for recreational rather than pain purposes.

    Not that good, effects are mild at best. Above methocarbomol but below carisoprodol.

    Absolutely worthless. It tastes like chalk and the effects are pretty much on par.

    Swim's doctor gave her Skelaxin because he said it would be LESS sedating than Flexaril, which knocks her out. It gave her the same kind of stomachache she gets with aniti-inflammatories and NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory etc.)and didn't really help with muscle spasms or much else. Swim went back to using Flexaril which at least helped the spasms.

    The first muscle relaxant prescribed to me by my neurologist, and the most worthless of all she's had me try so far.

    ^^^ Unless your monkey can elaborate then this post isn't particularly helpful. What was your monkey expecting from said prescription, why was it worthless? Are there better alternatives?

    swim says metaxalone gave him a very slight sedating/ antixylotic effect. his doses were 800mg no effect, 1600mg slight sedation, 2400mg mild sedation and a weak anti anxiety effect. swim also tryed insuffulation which he found to produce the same effects and taste like a chalky piece of shit. it also did not work in any way to loosen the tension in swims lower back muscles. overall he rates it as useless but would encourage swiys to try it before moving to a stronger relaxant such as carisipordal

    Swim far prefers carisoprodol to skelaxin (metaxalone, even though the patent expired YEARS ago) for both medical and recreational reasons. Swim's cat however. had a series of very painful this-and-thats, and among the meds given to the cat was Skelaxin, and he swears that it was the only thing that actually helped with the pain -- and after the car accident, this is IN ADDITION to the fentanyl patch and diazepam. I guess different strokes for different folks...

    This page has over 15,000 views.

    Do penguins find this substance recreational at all? In what sort of dose?

    Adding to the knowledge base would be important here

    AFOAF used skelaxin for opiate detox in a professional setting along with a long acting benzo. He said it worked quite well to combat the muscle aches and also helped with the insomia, anxiety, and the usual withdrawal symptoms. Although it was in combination with a benzo so the anxiolytic effects can most likely be attributed to that.

    Re: Skelaxin (Metaxalone)??? recreation dosage

    Swim has been taking metaxalone along with small doses of diazepam and alcohol/weed for the last couple nights and other than slight pressure around the temples he felt very good. tonight the valium is gone and swim has no liquor so hes going to try a 3200 mg dose of metaxalone and when it kicks in start smoking the little bit of reefer he has left. i will get him to report the experience in this thread later tonight or tomorrow if i remember.

    My snail actually just ate 2 two 800mg Skelaxin a few minutes ago.

    My snail has done this once before (1600mg total) and smoked some weed to get some nice calming, body high effects. Skelaxin is nothing to write home about, not really a remarkable ''high''. just sort of something to have a little bit of fun with.

    SWIM seems to be alone on this, but she has a very strange reaction to Skelaxin. It initially has a typical muscle-relaxing kind of effect, but as it should be wearing off SWIM experiences for many hours a bizarre high. All sensations are increased dramatically, especially touch and sound (well, those happen to be the two SWIM enjoys most anyway...) in a way it's awesome but it's almost a little too intense. this happened the first time SWIM tried Skelaxin (which she got to counteract adverse Adderall effects actually) and assumed it had nothing to do with the MR and was just the lingering effects of stimulants, but a week or so ago SWIM took a Skelaxin to help her get to sleep...it worked, but when she woke up, bam, super senses, weirdly high almost all day. SWIM had not been drinking, smoking, or taking any kind of stimulant other than caffeine within the last few days before taking it. anyone else ever hear of anything like this...?
