Skullcap was used by several American Indian tribes; they strongly recommended it for the relief of headache and related pain.
Many physicians of the 19th Century used Skullcap with great success, to treat nervous diseases, convulsions, neuralgia, insomnia, restlessness and even tetanus. These uses have continued to present day, but little scientific research has been carried out to understand Skullcap's effects.
    Effects
It gives a relaxed feeling, relieves menstrual cramps, stress, headaches and insomnia.
    Usage
Let 30 grams soak for 15 min in ½ liter of boiling water, then strain it. Add some honey or anything you like, and then drink one or two cups.
If you want you can also smoke it, with tobacco or pure.

Yea skullcap extraction can provide decent effects but I would not
recommend smoking it. For a better extraction I would suggest
adding the 30g of skullcap to a mixture of everclear and water and let
the mixture sit for a day. Strain the liquid mixture into a pyrex
baking pan. Repeat the process with the used foilage several
times. When you are satisfied, place the baking pan in the oven
or preferably on a hotplate at a very low temperature and allow the
liquid to evaporate. When the liquid is evaporated, scrape the
resin from the dish and place into capsules. In my experience
with smoking skullcap, it can give terrible headaches and considering
the little effects you achieve from smoking it I would not recommend
smoking skullcap. If you do decide to smoke skullcap, make sure
you use a waterpipe. Try smoking a joint of skullcap, look at
your fingers afterward, try scrubbing the the stain off, and then
imagine what you lungs must look like. Just giving my two cents.

Well I simply don't recoomment smoking it because of the residue it
leaves behind. After my friend smoked a joint of skullcap, he had
yellow/orange stain on his fingers from where he was holding the
joint. It took several days for this stain to go away even with
heavy washing and scrubbing. I simply would not want to fill my
lungs with that on a regular basis.

Well from talking to my friend, the ingestion of skullcap extract has
mild sedative effects. He described the effects as being similar
to a mild dose of vallium. However I do not know what amounts of
the extract he consumed or the purity of the extract. I do know scutellarian, the most active </font>constituent in skullcap is damaging to the liver.

it is not necisarrily damaging to the liver. read up on it. then do comparitive reading on tylenol how if you take the fda recommeded 4 grams in a day you can see increased enzyme production of an enzyme that is particuraly harmful to you for up to three months. the fda has some balls to say stuff about this and kava.

Skullcap is generally used to relieve headache, not cause it. The method of usage drink, eat, smoke should not effect the result. Swim smokes this when he gets a migraine with good results, a bit harsh but effective.
My likes this as its relaxing but does not make swim sleepy like passion flower etc.
