I was always told they came from arts n crafts stores, but never seen them there... but then again, I didn't exactly search for them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe stamp bags are literally bags for stamps. Postage stamp collectors use them so the stamp won't get stuck to the glassine bag. And conveniently, nor will powders. In the drugs trade, it seems there is a double etymology with the term 'stamp bag'. They are used by stamp collectors, and they also get stamped with a brand.

The bags are stamped at the "Tag & Bag" table in a process known in the trade as "milling".

Or do you mean the professionally printed ones?

In the images you see the T&B table and the stamps that are being used by the mill, in this case NYC east side.

Glassine was the word i was looking for. After some searching i found some sites that offer them. These ones are the closest i found in my search.

    commercial link removed

1" 3/4" is the smallest size they offer. I think thats about the right size. Strange though, in my travels i've never seen these sold in any headshops etc. I guess i prolly wasnt exactly looking for them at the time.

    Thanks for the help guys.

I have come across professionally printed bags at a head shop in West Virginia. They had a photobook with samples of about 50 different sizes and print for sale.

I just assumed they were made in China along with all the other cheap paraphernalia sold in head shops these days.

Those mini-Ziploc bags are only good for cannabis. They absolutely SUCK for any kind of powders; they ALWAYS end up stuck in the zipper part!

Glassine/wax paper stamp bags are always preferred, the corner of sandwich baggies is next best & also acceptable. :)

Yeah the plastic ones were not what i meant at all. The glassine package is an east coast thing. Maybe why some ppl were confused. Judging by the "mill" pictures, they must be cheap and readily available somewhere.

Corner of sammich baggies is ok i suppose but i can never tie them back up.
