    Tramadol/Percocet on a drug test

A friend of mine has a drug test coming up in about 4 days and took percocet yesterday. He was wondering if there is any chance the percocet will show up on the drug test (he only took the percocet that one time) and if continuous use of tramadol will cause a fail drug test. He would appreciate any comments.

Generally percocet (oxycodone) takes about 3-5 days to leave your system depending on body chemistry and amount used. The more water you drink the faster youre body will eliminate it. Tramadol will cause a fail if its been used in the last 30 hours or longer if its been used continously.

that helped out a lot. he takes tramadrol about 3 times a week. do you think staying off tramadrol for 3 days before the test should be enough?

I cant be certain but I would think it would be, Ive read that tramadol is eliminated in 30 hours so you might be pushing it. Drink as much water as possible. If you wanted to play it safe someone who isnt you could go to the doctor complaining of a strained wrist or sprained ankle from a day or two ago that just wont stop hurting. If swiy made a good enough case a small tramadol script would be easy to score and then they would have a legit reason why they tested positive.

that is also what I thought, but I've been reading about a few cases where it caused a failed test.

It is really dependent on the Test,
commonly we can say Drug-Test via Urine inside a Praxis will not showed it
but when it will send to a Deep-Test in a Labor both will be discovered!

thanks, but i guess my next question is how long with the tramadol remain detectable in someones system if they do a deep-test? Is 30 hours about the right time frame?

I would say 30 hours is as close an estimate as you can get. Could be more, could be less, but not by much.

Would it matter if you failed a pre-job screening due to prescribed tramadol use?

Swiv believes that so long as swiy can produce proof of being prescribed a drug, the company can choose to disregard the positive test. Swiv's mom had to drug test for her job, and she has cancer, so she's on oxycodone. She showed them the bottles and they told her it was okay.

Swim isn't sure if he is posting in the right place, but he is going to give it a shot anyway. Swim just got his hands on a bunch of tramadols knowingly he has a drug test for oxys coming up tomorrow. He has done extensive research about these and is almost certain there is no way possible this can show up as any kind of opiate. Is he right? Any experiences? Please help swim!!

Tramadol, in the U.S. is not scheduled. It is legal to have it but you need a prescription to obtain it.

Using the information swim has found here: http://drugs-forum.com/forum/showthr...adol+drug+test , tramadol will show up within 30 hours of taking it- depending on the method of testing. What Swim has read and determined is that tramadol will most likely not show up on standard urine test, but failing tests due to tramadol has happened. (please note that swim is not educated on how drug testing works and is going off of what he has read here on the site)

Swim will ask a question and perhaps someone can clear it up for him ;)

Swim doesn't know what would happen if it did show up on a drug test though... It is a fully-synthetic opioid. Ok, lets assume that someone is tested on a regular basis for opiate/opioid use. If tramadol did actually show up as an opiate on a test, and tramadol was the only thing this person has been taking, what would the outcome be? Could this person tell whoever is administering the test that they have been taking tramadol? or would it be catigorized in the opiate/opioid area and this person gets the shaft for taking an un-regulated substance? Does it have to do with why swiy is getting tested in the first place (eg. opiates)?-- Swim is confused.

Swim is very unfamilliar with drug testing ect.

my dogs friend has a personal and very good friend who used trammies the whole time he tested...never showed up, even had a script, but had no need to show tester...Swiy has a better chance failing for opiates doin large amounts of dxm...

like stated it would have to be tested for...just like lsd and mushies and such..

SWIM is currently in a day treatment program and gets random tests mon - fri. If SWIM took tramadol on a friday, Is there ANY way it could trigure a positive on a drug test? Dip stick or Lab analysis.

Tramadol is not typically tested for. I've never seen an immunoassay panel that tests for tramadol. It would have to be a specific GC/MS test, which is costly, time-consuming, and unlikely.
