I'm just wondering what the cheapest types of these alcohols are and about how much a fifth costs. Thank you.

5 o' clock vodka is super cheap (and it tastes nasty) i'd say like $10 or less for a fifth. i usually buy bacardi rum which is like $15 for a fifth, just for comparison. i don't drink tequila so i can't help ya there

Back before metric took over, a fifth is a fifth of a gallon. It went like this:
1/2 pint; pint; fifth; and half-gallon.

I've seen a few half gallon bottles (i call them handles) go for 12 dollars. Tequilla was pedro morales, or something like that. Nastiest tequilla I've ever had. Then there was montego bay rum, not so bad if mixed, but shots was a no-go. I've heard you can make a better spirit out of cheap crap by filtering it a few times with a good charcoal/carbon filter. Haven't tried that out yet though.
