Swim got an ounce yesterday but it was very dry, although definetly high grades. It had the ebst fruity smell you could get but because it was so dry swim added some salad leaves out of the fridge to re hydrate the bud a bit. After doing the job of rehydrating it would seem the leaves have almost completely taken away the smell. If the bud were to dry out again would the smell come back or does swim have to deal with it? Any ideas as to why this would happen?
It still smokes well and is very potent so this seems to be the only issue.

It is quite possible that the person who sold the bud sprayed some kind of aromatic on the pot in order to give it that fruity smell. Darth Vader has had this happen to him too, and often come-to-find-out the pot isn't nearly as good as he had once thought.

Tis a shame ppl can't just sell really good pot all the time...

Would this aromatic likely be harmful / harmful to the point where a swiy wouldn't smoke it? To be honest Swim put a lot of leaves in there, he since read that you should put a small leaf but he wacked in maybe four/five. Thing is the pot is still very potent so would it be worth spraying, swim thought it was mainly shit pot that got sprayed?

Try breaking open a bud and smelling the inside. If swiY gets that fresh stink then it should be fine. SwiM isn't sure what compounds are responsible for pot's aroma but doubts it's THC itself (maybe tho!) -- it's possible that they are water-soluble though in which case the water could have stolen its scent :p But THC itself is not water-soluble, so the high would be unaffected by the leaves.

And nah, swiM doesn't think that anything someone would spray on there would be too toxic etc. If so we'd be hearing about it a lot more :p Not saying either that's what happened, but it's at-least worth investigating with the nose :)
